A perfect way to learn about the watermen and how they make their livings on the rivers and bays of southeastern VA. Great small museum with a great little gift shop with beautiful nautical gifts. Right in the village of Yorktown.

“Don't miss this little place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2013

This is a real nice little place for some local stuff.
This town's history has to do with the river and ships--and this place tells the story of that
It's small-but we enjoyued the place exhibits--and the delightful person who was at the desk and told us about the place

“Not really organized”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2013

I thought the history was neat. But I wasn't really sure what was museum and what was private property. The whole experience took about 30 min.

“A Step Back in Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

This museum is a secret little gem! It tells the story of the Yorktown waterfront and the past life of its people. There are interesting displays inside and also outside. The model ship out front along with the replica windmill, boasts the work of a master craftsman. To remember my visit, I treated myself to a Christmas ornament. It is a tiny wooden work-boat decorated with party lights. So cute!! This place is great!
