We found the York River Inn and it´s keeper, Bill Cole, absolutely exquisite. We were overwhelmed by the George Washington Suite, so richly decorated with fabulous memorabilia and an extraordinary collection of American history books. So much so, that our last day in Yorktown we decided to just stay in, as we had the entire house to ourselves. There was classical music being played, and such an incredible collection of books to browse, and outstanding view of the Yorktown bridge as it opens to give path to the Navy ships of Norfolk, that we couldn´t think of anywhere else better to be. There were cardinals out the window, and the aroma of the delicious breakfast was still in the air. Bill was even generous enough to share with us some of his amazing recipees. Would love to come back and stay for a longer period. Thank you Bill for making out stay so very enjoyable and unforgettable.
