Their pizzas are baked in a wood fired oven. It was one of the best pizzas I've had and was surprisingly welcome in this remote area of the country.

We ended up here because the first two places we stopped at had zero vegan options. We ordered the bruschetta which was just fair. They make 4 different kinds, but we could only have the red pepper option. We then ordered a veggie pizza without cheese. On the positive side, the crust was very good. While we've had better veggie pizza's this was not too bad. We had a very good server, even though this was her first day on the job. There was another choice on the menu that was vegan which was a pasta with a tomato sauce minus the cheese. Overall, an ok experience.

I ate there today at the suggestion of the owner of Ash Canyon Bed and Breakfast. They make the loveliest thin crust pizza that arrived hot at the table, properly browned on the bottom with the toppings cooked but not overdone on top.

I haven't had a pizza that good in years. Just sauce, basil and mozzarella on top. Good ingredients but it was the preparation that made this a standout.

15 miles south of town, at an obscure crossroads sits Mimosa. A stunning building, with a mountain backdrop. Entering the eatry almost transports you to a big city by the impressiion it creates. The interior is stylsih Italian. The aromas and the hustle and bustle are wonderful. The menu is competent, nothing too exotic. Custom, fresh baked, oven fired pizza is a mainstay. Service is responsive, but clunky. It is really hard to find, train and keep good staff in this part of the country. The food is rarely excellent, but always good enough. The ambience can be very nice, but there are nights when it can be very cowboy for a nice Itialian place. In an area with few excellent choices, it is worth the drive, just not every week.

Went to Mimosa tonight. Were out of the night's special pizza. Asked for salads to be served with entree & were served before entree. The wine and spinach salads were excellent. The lasagna and the eggplant/zucchini/pepper pizza were less than average. Nice decor.
