You just can't get a better steak anywhere. Flemings? MMmm...nope. Oakwood Club? Mmmm...nope. I think Paragon has been in business for many years and they are known in the area as one of the three top steak places in the region...with the Pine Club and Oakwood Club. The others might just equal Paragon, but for the elegant/formal yet laid back atmosphere, you just can't beat Paragon. We've had The Crabby Waitress in the past, but on our recent visits, the wait staff has been very pleasant and efficient - friendly and helpful, but not too familiar or overbearing. One of the few places you can still get expertly prepared escargot. The sides are very good, especially the creamed spinach and the hash browned potato. Stewed tomatoes (what is it with the stewed tomatoes in Dayton, anyway?)? I'll pass, thanks. But the steaks...ohhhh emmmm geee. You'll close your eyes and savor each bite and thank the Good Lord for cattle. How do they prepare their steaks like that? You'll get as good a steak at Flemings with similar sides, but it will cost you 3 times what you pay here.
