We are bluegreen owners and stayed here for the first time. We stayed in the building across the street but it was a very short walk to the pool and beach. The cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom were a little dated but everything was well taken care of. The staff for this resort were some of the nicest I've ever seen and you could tell they worked hard by how well every around the resort was kept up. We can't wait to return here!!

We love Via Roma. We are Bluegreen owners and booked our stay with points. Our unit 5 faced the beautiful Gulf, was ground floor, and just a few feet from the sand. This resort is very well maintained and provides all the essentials. The entire staff were very friendly and seemed to really care about the quality of our stay. Hats off to the manager who was especially helpful and friendly. The resort is an older property but the pool area is very nice and the ability to be on the beach after walking a few feet is ideal if you enjoy the surf and sand. The inside of the units are very clean and functional. Flat screen tv in the living room and the bedding was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend Via Roma.

Basic but different. Wonderful places to eat nearby. Excelelent service with friendly welcoming staff. Room basic but clean and comfortable. Magnificent sunsets. Good value for Bluegreen points. Book well ahead or you won't get in. Plenty of places nearby to shop. Going back again this November for two weeks. Try and get a room overlooking the beach or by the pool and not the other side of the road which is busy.

We have stayed here for three years in a row now and we absolutely love this place. The rooms are clean and have exactly what you need. The staff are always willing to help out or answer any questions you may have. This year while we were staying the pool was being renovated into a salt water pool, but we had access to the ocean. The ocean is only steps away and the hotel provides lounge chairs on the beach. This is a great place for kids and adults. If you are looking for a nice quiet place to vacation Anna Maria Island is the place to go. I would highly recommend taking in a sunset under the porch that faces the ocean.

Great location right on the beach. 28 two story units well maintained and clean. Only owners and their guests stay there...no public. Was an RCI trade for us. Clientèle is older and friendly. Very few activities. Close to Island restaurants and services. car is necessary. Ample parking. Beach is gorgeous. Area contains two story buildings...no high rises.

Although it stormed and rained our entire stay, we still found relaxation and had a wonderful stay! I would prefer this to Orlando any day! No high rise buildings to block the view. Everything looked to be well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They had pool toys and "noodles" for guests to use. There were lounge chairs on the beach for guest use. There were two gas grills beside the pool area as well. Publix grocery is just down the street. Everything is just very convienent and relaxing. The interior is basic with no frills but very comfy and clean.

We enjoyed eating lunch at the Sandbar restaurant about ten minutes away. This restaurant is moderate in price and sits right on the beach. The food was large in portion size and was very good.

Just a bit south on Long boat Key is an aquarium. I think it is called "morr Aquarium". It was nice but small. We paid around $64 for three adults and one child. There wasn't much to see so we wouldn't go back for that price. There is a pretty neat shopping area south of Long Boat Key. It's pricy but neat to visit.

Our room was just across the road from the beach. The only thing I didn't like was that we had to dodge traffic by crossing the street to get to the pool, grills, and beach. Even so, I would certainly come back!

As Bluegreen owners we found it difficult to find availability at this resort and once we did reserve a week, were not quite sure what to expect as we knew the resort was older.

We were all pleasantly suprised! Although the resort is older, the accomodations were very comfortable. We had one of the one bedroom units across the street from the main complex on the ground level. The 'condo' was quite large and the furnishings were more than comfortable. The rooms were all very clean. The kitchen was stocked with every type of cooking essential needed including a great blender! Laundy is in the back of this building and takes quarters but that wasn't an issue to us.

The pool and hot tub were both very nice and clean. We enjoyed having our lunch in the covered area by the pool which was also an amazing spot for sunsets. We did use the barbecue pits which was nice. Once a week they also had a 'cocktail' hour where you could purchase bloody mary's for $1.

Everyone was very friendly and often gathered each day near the pool. The lady in the office, Collette ??, was exceptionally helpful and took a lot of time to explain to us where everything was on the island. This island has a free trolley service that continually circles the island and there is a stop very close to the resort.

This is also an amazing stretch of beach!! The water was clear, an amazing shade of blue-green and calm the first couple of days and then when Hurricane Ike brushed by, the surfers came out in droves from all over the US. We found an endless amount of seashells, some of them VERY large.

I can't say that we found a lot of great restaurants. The Rod and Reel and City Pier were good and MarVista may have been our favorite. We didn't try BeachHouse unfortunately. Skinny's was ok but Rotten Ralph's really was rotten :( Dips has some wonderful ice-cream and you can stroll down the pier with it. Jane E's IDA had great coffee and seemed a morning hangout for the locals.

Take my word for it...it's the best beach in the area. We took several day trips to other well known beaches while here and none of them were as beautiful as this stretch. PLEASE...use caution if you go to Venice Beach to look for sharks teeth. You will find them but Venice Beach is also well known for 'hustling', if you can call it that.

Unfortunately, we don't have any photos as a giant hurricane generated wave knocked me down and destroyed my camera and phone!

We liked the Via Roma so much we are going back in two weeks! Look out Hurricane Hanks :)
