Four of us were looking for a good fish restaurant in Bradenton .We asked a guy at a golf club who suggested Ocean Harvest as the owner had his own fishing boat and fish was always good.
We got there early around 6pm ,very quiet and it took quite a while before we were attended to by a young waitress who was not over friendly. We took advantage of a 2 for 1 offer on beer as we thought the price of wine to be prohibitive. The two men ordered fish fillets with fries and one other veg.while the ladies had mixed fish grills again with fries and one veg.
The meals arrived and we thought them rather sparse .I had one small fillet with the fries and a serving of fried okra .My friend also had a fillet of another fish ,again only a small portion. The ladies mixed fish grill was better with fish, shrimp and scallops also with fries and one veg.
Considering the price, $25 for the mixed fish and $23 for the fish fillet we thought we had been overcharged particularly as we had tax on top.We left a 10% tip which didn't go down well with our waitress.
We had previously visited a fish restaurant in Sarasota Main Street which was better in value and service.
It seems to me that vegetables are not expensive and giving a choice of fries and one veg.is rather mean and making the fish serving larger would have made the price reasonable.
It may be that we picked the wrong night or the wrong food but we were not impressed.

While I normally set my culinary radar to places along the beach with a view of the ocean when within a 25 mi. radius of an ocean, we were hungry after running errands all morning, so I spied this place and suggested we give it a try. What a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is pretty unassuming (the full size alligator skin is pretty impressive), the oversized bar at one side of the space suggests large crowds at a different time of day and the display case for the "market" seemed woefully small. But we checked the menu and spied some delicious sounding options and decided to give it a chance. The meal turned out to be terrific. We had gumbo, shrimp quesadillas and a mahi-mahi rueben with the best fried okra ever. Would have loved the sashimi sampler, but it was not available today. Our server, Melissa, was very friendly and accommodating. Nice surprise along the plaza laden major highway (rt. 64) in Bradenton.

Complete your life now and indulge yourself if your answer is no. But don't stop there. The blackened grouper sandwich (or mahi if you dare) and the shrimp quesadillas are delicious. The sauces that accompany these creations put the icing on the cake. You will not be disappointed with the smiling, and accommodating service either!

Capt. Ron is real and so is the remarkable Chef Mark. We were a large party of 12 for lunch and our first time to this unassuming place located in a small strip center. When I saw the super freshly caught fish, shrimp, stone crabs in the glass refrigerated counter my expectations soared. We weren't disappointed. I think we ordered almost everything on the menu and ate it all....from the unusual squid fries served with an aoili sauce, seafood gumbo that would hold it's own against any NOLA gumbos, conch soup that had a great tomatoey base, seared fresh marlin delicate and perfectly cooked to their fresh and famous blacked fish tacos. Oh yes, we ate more but those were some highlights. We also ordered for dessert a house made Trez leche coconut cake that was served with a strawberry sauce. The food didn't exactly come out in sync but we didn't care. The bloody mary's were spicy and garnished with a Brussel sprout, green bean, olives and onion. Loved looking at the fishing pictures of Capt. Ron and our waitress could not have been friendlier and good natured. My favorite place now in Bradenton. A must EAT here place

Ate there and will never go back. Loud kitchen, over priced and very little food. Pathetic 4 little ribs for $11. The bbq was an over the top want to be bbq sauce. If you can call it bbq sauce. If you are an old snow bird or dead you may get full. $8 for bowl of clam chowder??? Yeah stupid prices...
