“Amazing!”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

It was amazing walking around the Borax Works in that extreme heat we found when travelling through Death Valley.
There are enough information signs that give you an idea of how the borax was extracted, refined and shipped (using dozens of mules!).
Very interesting.

“Interesting history”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

It was pretty easy to walk around the Borax Works, just a mild incline and a fairly short walk. You can see quite a bit remaining of the facility, and there are signs explaining how the borax was mined, refined, and shipped.

“Not much left”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

A large car park and a short walk to what is left of the old Harmony Borax Works. In the heat I rather wished I had stayed in the shade!

“Fascinating stop for a little history”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

Harmony Borax Works is located a short distance from Furnace Creek Ranch and Inn. A little over one hundred years ago, this location was used to process borax, a very important mineral used in many applications. There is a short interpretive trail that leads you through and around the site and is well worth a short visit of 20 to 30 minutes.
