“Charming and elegant - great romantic weekend!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 November 2013

My husband and I stayed here for a long autumn weekend getaway with another couple. The hotel is lovely. The room was beautiful, and the bed was heavenly. The staff is friendly, gracious, and completely accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in the lobby restaurant, including some good jazz music playing that evening. The location is great - we walked along the main street and enjoyed browsing in the quaint shops. I would highly recommend a stay at this charming, elegant, comfortable hotel.

Hi rags53,

Thank you for this wonderful review! We are quite pleased that you, your husband and your friends had a great time while you were here. We have a wonderful staff. They truly enjoy what they do and it really comes through to everyone they encounter. Our downtown location cannot be beat. It is the perfect setting to take an autumn stroll to see the sites and the changing foliage.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us! We hope to see you again soon…

My husband and I just came back from a 3 day mini vacation in Bethlehem. This Hotel was everything I hoped for. I loved the decor. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location is fabulous. The local shop owners were all very sweet. You must eat at the Apollo Grill and Cork Steak house. The food at both places were unbelievable. We come from 5 min outside NYC so we know good food! We loved this hotel so much we are bringing are kids back next month for the Christmas Village!

Hi ja2195,

Thank you for taking the time to review us here. We are pleased that you and your husband enjoyed yourselves. We appreciate the feedback on our Serta Perfect Sleepers. Just about everyone really seems to love them. Your room tip is a good one. We do have some rooms that are on the small side. That is par for the course with a Historic Hotel. We do have suites that offer much more space especially if you are traveling with children. You and your family will enjoy the Hotel and Christmas City Village when you return. The Christmas season is our time to shine. We will be fully decorated for Christmas on Thanksgiving day.

Thank you again! We look forward to welcoming you and your family back to the hotel.

I got to know this hotel while house hunting in the area and love it. Having bought a house we like now to share the bar experience with friends. In fact we make a point of bringing all our visitors in to have a drink and/ or meal in this beautiful hotel. However I always hope that they don't take too much notice of the entrance. I like the way that the manager replies to each and every comment about his hotel on Trip advisor and last March in reply to my comments the manager said that steps were going to be taken to improve this rather "cheap" 60's type glass door and nasty carpet on entrance stairs....no sign of improvement yet! Wouldn't it announce the general upmarket atmosphere of the hotel if it had a swivel door and stone steps like in NYC hotels? The historic building certainly deserves it! I shall be back in spring of 2014....here's hoping!

Hi saucon,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We appreciate your continued patronage to our restaurants and for recommending us to your friends. After your last review we did replace the carpet at both the Front and side entrances. The carpet is replaced annually. There are a number of factors that need to be considered when changing the entrance as well as approval from the Historic and Architectural Review Board because we are located in the Bethlehem Historic District. We are currently looking at designs to replace the entrance doors which must fit within the Design Guidelines for our District. We truly appreciate your feedback. We are fully aware of items we would like to change, they just take time.

Thank you again! We look forward to seeing you soon…

We stayed here as a little getaway and to celebrate our anniversary. The rooms were cute, comfy and very clean. The bartenders were very nice and made us some great drinks. Room service was very fast (even late at night.) They even gave us complimentary water bottles! My only complaint is that it got very hot during the night and even with turning the air up all the way it was a little difficult to sleep. We would definitely stay here again !

Hi GinaBif,

Happy Anniversary! Thank you for taking the time to review the Hotel. We are pleased that you chose to celebrate such a special occasion with us. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed yourselves. We have some of the best bartenders in the Lehigh Valley. They love what they do and it shows. Our room service is open 24 hours a day. The team is always ready to ensure a quick delivery. I would like to apologize for the HVAC issue in your guest room. I have shared your comments with our engineering team. They are inspecting all of our units to ensure everything is running properly.

Thank you again for staying with us. We look forward to your return!

More than anything, my travel companion and I were struck with the exceptionality of service at Hotel Bethlehem. Hotel employees went out of their way to make us comfortable and happy.

In particular, I would single out a desk clerk named Shannon (if I remember correctly) who learned to call me by name almost immediately and couldn't have been more warm, helpful, and polite. She even helped me find a phone charger (after I recognized that I had left mine at home) which turned out to be the personal property of another hotel employee!

Additionally, we were gifted with complimentary drinks and a meal for having to wait over an hour to check in due to a flood of late checkouts following a weekend of high volume wedding activity. And even a curmudgeonly bartender was crisp and efficient and generous.

Room Tip: My room was on the eighth floor and comfortable despite being smaller than I expected.

We were pleasantly surprised when we got to the Hotel. Hotel was historic & beautiful, accommodations were clean & quite pretty and located in a charming little town with great shops & restaurants! Not to mention almost walking distance to the Sands Casino! But what a great surprise to come down Sunday morning to an amazing spread for Brunch. Excellent food at a phenomenal value! Great Hotel! We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Bethlehem. It is an elegant, old building with charm and beauty. The room was lovely and the bar and restaurant top-notch. We were very pleasantly surprised that this excellent hotel is located in the quiet town of Bethlehem. There were 2 weddings and guests from all over the country. I highly recommend staying here.
