Clean and comfortable rooms but a bit aggravating. Only one outlet in the bathroom so we had to move a bedside table and unplug the lamp and alarm clock to plug in the hair dryer. The HVAC didn't work very well. We couldn't get the room cool enough to be comfortable.. Sweated all night when it was 20 degrees outside. And be prepared to explain to the parking attendant what you are doing there every single time you come in the entrance. The parking is behind the entrance with no rear entry so plan on getting wet while you walk all the way around the building to your car. I won't be back

Hi Doug S,

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. I would like to apologize for your less than perfect experience. We truly appreciate your feedback. It assists us in identifying and rectifying any issues that we may not have been aware of. We have shared your comments with our Chief Engineer and Front Office Manager. Our Chief Engineer is working to ensure that our HVAC systems in our guest rooms are all functioning properly and our Front Office Manager is now providing all of our guests with car tags so our parking attendants are able to easily identify hotel guests without having to stop them each time they enter.

If you would like to discuss your stay in more detail our General Manager Dennis Costello would be more than happy to do so. He may be reached at 610-625-2201 or DCOSTELLO@HOTELBETHLEHEM.COM

Our son and daughter-in-law, graduates of Lehigh University, shopped around extensively for a venue to host their wedding reception before settling on the Historic Hotel Bethlehem. The Grand Ballroom was lit with the Christmas decorations and the cocktail hour, prior to the dinner, offered on the floor above the ballroom provided a beautiful perspective of the room while we enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres with a trio playing music in the background. The dinner offered three choices for the entree and the chef responded to positively to a last minute request of a gluten-free kid's menu with choices! The staff was so attentive to their guests and the anticipating of their needs: we were treated like kings and queens.Debbie, their banquet manager, has trained the staff to perfection.

Hi French_American4,

Congratulations on your Son and Daughter-in-Laws Wedding! We were honored to be chosen to host such a special occasion. We have a close relationship with Lehigh University. Several members of our ownership group are Graduates of Lehigh as well. Our decorating team started putting our Christmas decorations up right after Halloween and they finished in time for Thanksgiving. We are pleased to hear that everyone enjoyed themselves and that we were able to accommodate your requests for special menu items. We are here to anticipate your needs and exceed your expectations. The Balconies overlooking the Grand Ballroom do provide a great view. Debbie is a true asset to the Hotel. We have shared your comments with her.

Thank you again! We hope to see you soon…

In late October, my wife and I stayed in Hotel Bethlehem for a night for her birthday. We did a ghost tour and then bounced around to a number of local establishments that are all within walking distance. There were 2 weddings at the Hotel that day, so it was a bit crowded. Regardless, the staff was excellent and the room was surprisingly updated and luxurious. The staff and management were terrific.

Room Tip: We had room 832 and loved it.

Hi FortyTude,

Happy belated Birthday to your Wife! Thank you for choosing to celebrate with us! The ghost tours are a lot of fun and educational. Our location is certainly conducive to walking around and being able to see everything that Historic Bethlehem has to offer. We are a popular destination for Weddings. Our staff does everything they can to ensure that everyone enjoys themselves. 832 is our Starview Executive King room. It is our most requested room type. It offers a spacious floor plan and beautiful views of the Bethlehem Star on the South Mountain.

Thank you again. We look forward to seeing you soon…

Kathy Sanders, Debbie Noguerol, and the entire staff at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem did an outstanding job for my mother's 90th birthday party celebration. The food, service, wait staff, and bartender were excellent. Everyone had a great time. Our guests came from various parts of the East Coast and were impressed by the charm and ambiance of the Hotel and the comfortable setting in the Lafayette Room. They want to come back next year and have a party there for her 91st birthday.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hotel Bethlehem and we were so taken, not only by the beauty of the hotel but also by the wonderful staff. It was amazing how much of the 'old world charm' was kept when renovations where done many years ago. The hotel had a warm, cozy atmosphere to it. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful with whatever we needed or wanted. Special kudos to Shannon at the front desk. Upon arrival she asked if we were there for anything special and we told her that it was our wedding anniversary. When we got back to our room on the second night there was a bottle of champagne , on ice, and a tray of chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us. Thank you Shannon.
My husband and I highly recommend this hotel, and are hoping to go back next year for the Irish festival.

Room Tip: the executive king suites are really nice

Hi eileen19703,

Happy Anniversary! Thank you for celebrating with us. We appreciate you taking the time to write this wonderful review. I am happy to hear that Shannon was able to do something special for your Anniversary. She is an asset to our team. Great care was taken to preserve and restore the original charm of the hotel. We embrace and celebrate our History every chance we get. We recently released a coffee table book with a complete history of the hotel and it is available in our Shoppe.

Thank you again! We look forward to seeing you during the Celtic Classic in September.

I went to school at Lehigh and as a student I couldn't afford to stay here but I always dreamed of coming back one day and staying here. I got my chance this month and it was everything I expected and more. We had the romance package and our room was very clean, and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and I really appreciated having a keurig coffee pot in our room with a selection of teas and coffees. We had dinner 1741 terrace as part of the package and the person you want serving you is Bob Sweeney. He is the BEST waiter I have ever had. He talked to us about the sites and went above and beyond to provide suggestions. This hotel is lucky to have him. We also got an included bottle of red wine. The hotel was nice enough to substitute this for champagne because I don't drink champagne. The chocolate covered strawberries were amazing. The breakfast the next morning was wonderful and I wish I had more time to stay a few more nights here. The gift shop inside the hotel has some beautiful jewelry if you like vintage style pieces. I would recommend this place for couples who want to get away for a long weekend and don't want to have to worry about details and planning. It is very romantic.

Room Tip: Book the romance package if you are going with a significant other.

We stayed in this lovely old hotel last Saturday night. This was our first visit to Bethlehem. The shops were all decorated for Xmas. We made reservations to eat in the fancy hotel restaurant, but we cancelled because there were no other diners. This is a high scale eatery, maybe too high scale for Bethlehem. We ate in a restaurant just up the road. It had wonderful food and was priced right. However, it was the noisiest restaurant we ever ate in. Maybe because we were too old and it was Saturday night. The only complaint we have about the hotel is the thin walls in room 910. The ladies in room 912 came home about 2.30am, ordered room service, and partied till 5am. We did not get very much sleep that night. The hotel does a good business with weddings. Maybe Saturday night would be a good night not to book there.
