“Not what it once was”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

We've eaten at The Lakefront Restaurant many, many times over the years. The atmosphere is still the same (rustic, cozy, charming), and the service is still sharp. The problem is the food. The menu is very brief and rather unvaried. No specials on a holiday Friday night! Ingredient quality is excellent, but the preparation is sub-par. All of our steaks were way, way overcooked, and everything was over-salted as well. I'm not writing this to speak ill of an old friend, but in the hope that the management and kitchen staff take a hint from a repeat customer who is looking forward to returning when they get their act back together.

“Wonderful dining experience...”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

We had heard nothing but great things about Tamarack and they were all true! The oxtail risotto was one of the best dishes I have ever had. My wife usually likes to taste a little of what I have and she couldn't stop it was so delicious. The elk and duck main courses were great as well. Quaint little place in a beautiful setting. We are definitely going back the next time we are up in Mammoth!

“It's Back”
Reviewed 28 March 2014 via mobile

We went to Lakefront after Chef Fredric and was thoroughly disappointed. Loving the atmosphere and hearing a new chef was onboard we decided to give it another try. All I can say is its BACK and so happy to see one of favorite restaurants regain its status

“Lakefront Restaurant at Tamarack is the best!”
Reviewed 25 March 2014

Chef Bobby is outrageously talented! His sous chef and food servers are the best! And the restaurant manager Billy is so nice! Can't go wrong eating at the Lakefront Restaurant!

“"Creative Chef"”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

Since being a resident of Mammoth Lakes have dined several times at this restaurant. In the past it was more the Tamarack Lodge that brought me back, but they have a new chef, Bobby Brown. He visited our table, grew up in Chicago, trained in New York area. We discussed his future and he is drawn to Hong Kong someday with hopes for his own restaurant. In the meantime Mammoth Lakes is fortunate to have such a creative chef. Definitely need to make reservations and enjoy!
