My family stayed at the Village Lodge in Mammoth Lakes in May of this year.
It was such a beautiful setting and at this time of year it was so peaceful and quiet. I could perhaps see that this place would be a little noisey in the peak months, but we had a road side apartment and didnt hear a peep from any other guests.
The facilities were great and the apartment was very clean! We could see the odd little thing that could maybe do with some renovation or maintenance, but other than that it was very comfortable. The restaurants were a little pricey, but still good food and plenty of options.
Lovely staff and very helpful. We did say on our booking that it was my dads 60th and our honeymoon (the reason we were on the trip as a family).....but we didnt see any little extras for those occasions which was a little dissapointing.
Overall though i would definitely stay at the Village lodge again.

Room Tip: Make sure to choose a roadside apartment.

Came up for the Half Marathon (June 22) for the second time and stayed each time at the Village Lodge, at a group rate. Room was clean, included full kitchen, free internet, balcony. Has a pool and hot tub. Humidifiers helped offset the very dry thin air. Everything clean, modern and functional. Only draw back is that the sound from the various restaurants' patios and courtyard games (bean bag toss etc) echoes loudly. We thought that maybe the World Cup soccer fans were milling about out there, but actually it was only a handful of folks. Fortunately all was quiet by 11:00 pm. Mammoth itself is a GREAT OUTDOOR summer location for hiking, (Inyo National Forest and Ansel Adams Wilderness and Mono Lake and Yosemite) ) history (Bodie) , biking, and running.
Campo Restaurant and Side Door in the Village -- just outside in the courtyard -- are recommended for dinner. There are many other restaurant choices right there outside your door as part of The Village.

Mammoth lake region is surely a must visit. We stayed in a 2 bed suite and it was amazing. The lodge is big, has multiple pools, places to eat, bars etc. Basically a village in itself (true to its name).

100% recommended.

We stayed at The Village Lodge over Memorial Day weekend. I have been raving on and on about the Mammoth area to all of my friends. There are so many things to do in the summer months , and The Village Lodge is right there in the midst of it all! I love the location in the village, by all of the restaurants and shops. We checked in on Thursday and the girl at the front desk told us that we had been upgraded to a two bedroom unit. We were delighted because we had four people, and two were going to use a pull-out couch in the den. We also had two spacious bathrooms. The decor was modern and very nice. I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in our spare time, which wasn't much. The pool area is lovely.

There were some rowdy people outside, when the bars closed at two, which woke us up for a little bit. Because of the great location in the village, I guess you have to put up with that. But come on, it's vacation and some people need to lighten up, it wasn't that bad. The summer is fabulous, and you truly could stay for a week and enjoy numerous activities. I would LOVE to come back and ski in the winter!

We walked right out of our hotel into the little village square area, with numerous restaurants. We walked over to Burgers for lunch and they were delicious! They also served us more quickly than any restaurant I've ever seen! We went to Toomeys two nights in a row, and enjoyed their filets, jambalaya, and desserts.

We traveled to Devil's Postpile on the first day and hiked. It is well worth the trip. Mountain bike rentals are sold right there a few feet from the hotel, and a bus will take you up to the top of the mountain to ride down. We went to the awesome Yosemite National Park on Saturday. We visited Convict Lake on Sunday on the way home and that is beautiful.

Thank you for your thorough review of the Village Lodge! We are so glad that you had such a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend. The Village is the heart of Mammoth and has some of the best restaurants and boutiques in town, which puts us in the middle of all the action! With that being said, I do apologize for any disturbing noise that you encountered overnight. It sounds like you sure know how to experience a “Mammoth Summer”, and we would love to have you experience our winters as well! We hope to see you again soon!
