“Great Family Fun”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Recently stayed overnight in this lovely inn. We reserved 3 rooms for an overnight stay on our way to a family campout. We had a nice dinner at the Mountain Grill which had an awesome view of the ski slops. Even without snow, the slops are beautiful. Staff was attentive and super friendly. Our room was clean, large and very comfortable. Great way to start our family camp out.
Thanks!

Yes! Our stay was a pleasant one. The staff is welcoming and inviting! My hubby and I came with our church organization and we love Mammoth! Thank you for the accommodations, the group discount was very helpful-:). We will be back!

Out of all of the places, I have stayed in Mammoth, this is by far the absolute worst. If you like the location, there are tons and tons of options (condos with full kitchens) for the same price or even cheaper down by Canyon or Eagle Lodge. The management is the worst I have ever dealt with. They did not honor an advertised price. The hotel is very run down. I honestly would rather stay at the Motel 8 down in town and take the shuttle up. At least the staff is very friendly there. I will not stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.

My girlfriend and I spent a romantic week at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. This was our first trip to Mammoth and it was amazing. We had a deluxe king unit in the main lodge which was perfect for our trip. We spent most of our time out exploring Mammoth and enjoying the nice weather. The hotel is perfectly located at the base of the mountain so everything outdoorsy was at our finger tips. We were only a few minutes via shuttle/car from the village and the town center! The service at Mammoth Mountain Inn was excellent. The staff is super accommodating and has a lot of helpful tips. Be sure to check out the Minaret Vista Trail directly behind the lodge for an awesome little hike!

Room Tip: Rooms in the main lodge are newer than the rest of the hotel. This location can not be beat if you a...

Sadly only one night here as part of the Western Discovery tour with ATI. bit of a long walk on the first floor to our room which although tired and a bit old fashioned was clean and cosy. We had been given a suite.....lots of room and a kitchen, lounge, diner. We overlooked the forest and saw Coyote's out there.....sadly no bears. This room could be really fabulous if it was given a makeover but we had no complaints.
We had dinner in the main block above reception. Good service and reasonable price. We bought bagels etc for breakfast in the room - may as well make good use of the facilities. Bought the stuff from the little shop near reception. Laundry for guests is through the garage. Need 25c coins. But 3 washers and 3 dryers. Think there was a change machine there?
Pool isn't up to much and there are 3 jacuzzis but none of them worked well at all. Hardly any bubbles. We were quite disappointed in this facility. All in all though a nice stop off and we would recommend for comfort and cosines but maybe not for newness! Lovely setting all around too

Room Tip: Ask if a suite is available....has a king size bedded room which is large and a wall bed again doubl...

To preface, how satisfied you are depends on your expectations. I visit Mammoth twice a year in the summer for recreation. I usually do an internet search to find the best value a week or so before I plan to stay. About 2 out of 3 times I end up staying here, usually on a promotion from the website. This property is a good compromise between price and accommodations.

This hotel is primarily for sportspeople. It is not for someone who stays in the room all day. It is located right at the base of the ski area which is used for mountain biking in the summer. (I hate mountain biking). But you can walk about 100 paces to the biking area. You also can walk to the shuttle to the Reds Meadow Canyon. So these options are right there and the location is excellent for these activities, particularly if you like to hike and fish in the canyon via the shuttle bus.

The rooms are comfortable but not luxurious. This is fine for me, I just need a shower after a day of hiking, a comfortable bed, and a television. Access to your room is usually easy from the parking (which can be under the hotel or outside depending on hotel occupancy) if you need to carry a lot of gear.

The downside is that you have to drive down the hill (about 5 miles) to get into town. The eating options near the hotel are somewhat limited and the hotel food is good but expensive. Rarely do I eat near the hotel.

Room Tip: Pick a room in the building with underground parking

Our family, along with many friends we have introduced Mammoth to over the years, have been staying at the Mammoth Mountain Inn since 2009. Our last visit was for this past 4th of July Holiday. It never fails to impress us. You can always tell a great mountain resort by the warmth and hospitality you receive the minute the doors to the great lobby open up. From the european mountain villa feel when you walk into the lobby, to the big comfortable chairs and furniture, to the international clientele that seem to always be present when we arrive, The Inn is always our first choice. The GM and the staff are top notch and ALWAYS look to make you feel VIP! Our children have developed a nostalgia for The Inn, and associate the magic of Mammoth with our stay at this great place. I will say that The Inn has some years under its belt, so the rooms are not glamorous. But they sure feel like home. I'll take a cozy feel every time over modern and impersonal. The activities for the little ones have added a new bungie-trampoline. Along with the zip lines, the mountain biking, a walk to the Mammoth buses that take you to Rainbow Falls and Devil's Postpile, it's hard not to have something you like to do waiting for you right outside your front door. I will also add a special note for cyclist! My buddies love to ride down to the Scenic Route and out to June Lake, Twin Lakes, etc. The Inn is a great hub for us to get our mountain training in with our road bikes. Whether it be winter or summer breaks, please make the Mammoth Mountain Inn part of your vacation memories!
