After a long drive from SoCal to Mammoth Lakes, we just wanted to grab something simple for dinner. So we drove from our resort to the Village, and discovered this little gem. We each ordered a pita (1 chicken, 1 falafel, 1 "Local"), and we were all very happy with our choices.

The pitas are served wrap-style, on thin pita bread. There are several meats to choose from, all grilled to order. The veggie selection is the best I've ever seen in this type of establishment (or a deli for that matter). They pretty much offered any veggie you could think of. They also have several sauces to choose from, including hummis, tzatziki, mayo, chipotle, and others. Two people can share one of these masterpieces.

This place is quite simple, you order at one end of the counter, and after your meat is prepared, you select your veggies and sauces, and watch as the employees build your meal. Limited seating is available inside both inside the restaurant, and at several tables located out front.

For a healthy and fresh alternative to fast food, you must give The Pita Pit a try. You won't be disappointed, and the nice price will leave some dough in your wallet as well.

Very delicious falafel and a great choice of fresh fixings and sauces. Great for a snack and a healthy eating in mammoth mountain.

If you want a yummy healthy sandwich, head to the Pita Pit. You get your choice of protein, veggies and sauces wrapped up exactly how you want it in a warm pita. The service is fast and the food is fresh and the prices are super affordable. The vegetarian sandwiches are $7 and the meat sandwiches are $8. I had a hummus sandwich with feta, veggies and avocado and it was delicous. My son had the chicken caesar wrap and my husband had the turkey pita. They were all delicious.

Threw up within two hours after eating a giros pita. Meat was a prefab slice, not comparable to original giros (looked and tasted artificial). Vegetables looked and tasted fresh. Bread was mediocre. Price was OK, but should have trusted my instincts and not have finished after the first bite. Sorry, but would not recommend.
