Juniper Springs has always been a family favorite for the past decade, with a great family and couples atmosphere. The lodging premium is worth it because the location saves time with ski in/out and rental nearby the Eagle Chair 15 Ski lift. Such a peaceful and mostly quiet lodge for the family or couple. The location is great for warm up on lower and mid mountain before skiing over to Main lodge for the more challenging runs on top.
A few years ago, Juniper made many much needed upgrades to the units, structure and pool areas. (Carpet, paint, appliances, bathrooms, lighting) so the facilities are much better now.
Front desk staff are eager to please and professional with check-in, activities, and checkout, and questions. We had a smooth check in with Peter and Ashley, easy and entertaining shuttle service with Timon to/from the Village, and superb checkout and support during our stay with Craig and Emily. (movies, pingpong, BBQ etc.)
Unfortunately, the housekeeping service which used to be top-notch (fast, friendly, eager to please) like a Westin, has gradually faded to a low-energy and small staff. Rooms vacated around 8am are not always cleaned by 4pm - linens and towels are not counted when removed and often replaced with less than required for all the guests. Service in your room can vary greatly from day-to-day (vacuuming, linens, dishes, towels). Calls to housekeeping quickly resolves these issues, but shouldn't be a problem with an experienced staff.
The Eagle Lodge and Eagle Rental yurts have excellent staff that are very helpful with lift tickets, maps, rentals, food, BBQ, and EMT/medical aid services. My daughter learned to ski here and Ski school is here as well for young kids or you can do private/group lessons for the kids and/or family.
