“Great vibe and even better food.”

Love the vibe, the wide range of music and best of all the great food. This is a great place to try something different. The grits and shrimp was fantastic.

“Great Find”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

Looking for a quick dinner, we stopped at the Village in Mammoth Lakes late on a Friday night (during the Kamikaze Bike races). This is a relatively new restaurant and walking in we were impressed with the decor (it had previously been an Irish bar/restaurant) and the music playing was enjoyable without being too loud to interrupt our conversation. The special drink list was very interesting and my wife really enjoyed the Griffon. The French inspired menu was affordable, very tasty and filling. Only regret was they had just ran out of the Shrimp Ravioli (as they were about to close for the season) so the wife tried the flat bread pizza with bourbon bacon and goat cheese, she rated it a 8/10. The fresh bread was warm, soft centered with a very nice flaky crust (the wife gives it a solid 10) and my honey mustard chicken was tender, moist and very good (the pommes frites were cooked to perfection) and I give it a 8.5/10 (higher if I liked mustard in the first place...go figure). The wife and I highly recommend this lounge for a nice meal and drinks. While we missed the Happy Hour, for the budget minded, this would be your best bet. We'll be back next September and look forward to Underground Lounge still being in business.

“Good food, a bit pricey”
Reviewed 26 August 2013

Good service but pricey and a bit loud for families on a Saturday night which is more down to us than a fault of the venue. The honey mustard chicken was very nicely cooked and my son liked the burger it just seemed really pricey for what we had. Much better value and choice to be had elsewhere in Mammoth

“HAPPY HOUR ON THE PATIO!”
Reviewed 17 August 2013 via mobile

Decided to take advantage of their daily Happy Hour from 4-6 when we arrived in Mammoth Lakes in late afternoon.

Walked inside to scope out the restaurant and found a dark cavelike atmosphere without an atmosphere I would want to dine in. It looks like a dungeon club with black walls, dim, etc. so back outside to the patio along the street where there are about 10 tables for leisure dining and good people watching. Location is right by the entrance to Mammoth Village.

Service not very good. Asked the disheveled young man wearing sunglasses? who seated us what the house gin was. He said he would find out and be right back. We never saw him again. Ordered a drink and beer from the waitress. Waited 15 minutes to get drinks as well as the table next to us. Puzzling since hardly anyone was inside the restaurant. Very slow drink service so we skipped round two.

Happy Hour Prices excellent.

Food very good. French Onion soup (4.00) Garlic Edamame (4.00) Angus Filet Mignon Sliders (6.00) and Escargot (5.00) were all hits.

Tanqueray (house gin) and tonic ($4.00)
Import Beer ($4.00)

Don't know why they serve cocktails in plastic cocktail glass and beer in glasses. Not too classy.

Value excellent but service and a more polished staff would be a plus.
