I expected a typical Westin hotel but was disappointed as soon as we drove up not enough staff to help unload our luggage took 30mins waiting.
Reception was quick. Room was ok but small for a 2 bedroom suite. The bedrooms were good but the living room was way too small.Nice full kitchen and dining table for six.
Before we came we had asked for memory foam pillows and after three attempts which took 2 ½ hours and finally came to telll us they were out of memory foam pillows.
Great location in the middle of everything easy to get to the mountain .
The hotel will take you anywhere and pick you up as well.
In my opinion this hotel is a 3.5 stars

Room tip: Be careful Rooms are small but nice

Family ski trip, kids first time skiing.

Pros
- Great location, easy to reach the gondola and village shops and restaurants. But there are 5 flights of stairs out of the hotel
- Mammoth is a great place for kids to learn to ski and great ski location
- Coffee in the morning, hot chocolate in the afternoon and champagne in the evening is a nice touch
- Kitchen area was helpful

Negatives
- The hotel restaurant is really limited in choice, and expensive for what it is. Given we were almost snowed in and had little choice of going out, this wasn't great
- 2 elevators for such a big hotel is a pain. We had to wait up to 10 mins on several occasions for one we could get in to
- For a large hotel, there isn't really anyway to go and sit. The only few chairs in the lobby are by the doors and not really somewhere to relax
- There are 2 spas but one was out of order, so the other was packed

Will definitely go back to Mammoth, but not sure I'd stay here again

This hotel is by far the most convenient and practical way of going on a ski trip, especially with family and kids. It is located in front of the gondola station which takes you directly to the chair lifts in canyon lodge. Good part is that the gondola station stores your ski equipment for free if you stay at the Westin. The warm pool and jacuzzi is amazing after a full day on the slopes. They offer complimentary wine and hot chocolate every day at 3 pm. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.

This is hotel food, nothing more. The decor is nicely done. The booths are comfortable. There's a nice little bar area.

I ordered the salmon. It was too large and the barbecue sauce didn't complement the fish.

The service was okay.

If you don't have dinner reservations somewhere else, this will do.

Great spot for a family. Super pet friendly.
We've stayed many times but mostly renting privately. This recent trip we booked through SPG directly.

Highlights
- Exceptional staff. Much appreciation to the woman who checked us in (sorry I can't recall your name). She helped us with a great room and it made our stay AND will keep us coming back. We're already sure we will be back in summer. Also, special thanks to Will who patiently answered a zillion questions--including the best route to take from the SF Bay area. His helpful approach sealed the deal on this stay.
- Great views all around the property
- Nice and clean
- Having a fridge and ability to cook some meals is really helpful
- LOVE the location
- Super comfortable beds
- Nice pool (though the jets on the hot tub we fit in didn't work)

The only other areas I could see for improvement would be bathroom amenities (at the rates we paid I expect at least the usual toiletries, but there was no shower cap, cotton balls, cotton swabs, etc.) and some general room updating. We've stayed here since 2010 and not much has changed. Again, we love it, don't get me wrong, but for the amount we paid, I could see cleaner sofa cushions and some updates to decor throughout the room.
