Very impessed; an excellent room at a very good price.

As photographers, my wife and I were keen to visit Mono Lake pre-dawn and at dusk. Last year we stayed at a small motel in Junes Lake which was probably the worst place we ever stayed at, so we were wary. Mammoth Lakes does require an extra 15 minutes driving, but it is worth it when you can secure a room of this quality at what was a very reasonable price. The service was excellent; within 20 minutes of arriving I received a telephone call from the front desk just to see if all was well; (by way of contrast just read what I have written about our experiences at June Lake). The breakfast in the morning was excellent with plenty of options, and there was a very helpful lady present who was constantly making sure that nothing was running out. You couldn't ask for more.

Beds comfortable; lots of pillows; fridge and micro; TV and WiFi. Several items not working or broken in our room, but staff sent maintenance promptly. Breakfast variety pretty good, but some items (sausage patties, eggs and potatoes) were tepid. Danish needed a little freshening in the microwave. Plenty of underground parking. Elevator. Rates pretty reasonable in a town with lots of high-end accommodations.

Room tip: Back side rooms (away from the main road) probably quieter than those facing the road.

Hello Sue,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are currently working together to inspect each room and catch concerns of items not working prior to our guest's arrival. With regards to the breakfast area, our breakfast attendant and myself are looking into other option we may be able to serve and still provide a variety for every guest. Please come back and visit us again during your next trip.

The hotel is nice, we had 2 beds, full sized on the first floor. We usually ask for top floor because of noise issues. Even so, this place was quiet for a first floor room. The bed was comfy, lots of pillows, fridge, micro, etc. The breakfast was decent, better than most as it had biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, filling less omelets and a variety of breads, waffles, etc. The service was outstanding, and upon check-in, we were given water and packages of trail mix for being choice hotels members. Awesome. The place has a big spa room, though we did not use it. Quite conveniently located too!

Towels, according to my rating system of 1 being soft and dreamy, and 5 being a brillo pad, these were around 3. Not a baby soft, but not scratchy either.

Stayed here for $159 a night in room 217. The good is location near a decent pizza place, large room for ski equipment and very nice staff at front desk. The bad no AC, just a fan, a weird staircase going to a locked door and narrow hallway into room, and a gross, dirty looking jacuzzi tub. The one Tv is a 32 inch flat screen located so far from the bed you might as well just watch something on the iPad. Windows open but missing a screen so take precautions with kids. Overall the entire place is worn and certainly not worth the price.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. As the new GM, I have been addressing concerns our guests have regarding our property. I believe the room you stayed in may have been 206, not 217. It is a connecting room to the room below and the stair case is the way to and from each room. We are currently in the process of replacing the Jacuzzi tubs in each of our suites. With regards to the location of the television, we can definitely look into relocating them to be closer to the sleeping area if possible. Thank you again for your comments.

Picked this hotel due to a good price and my membership in their rewards program.

Room was nice and comfortable. Entire property undergoing extensive upgrading. Should be nice when it's finished.

Underground parking included.

Basic but OK breakfast. Would have liked some Raisin Bran and bananas to have been included. Plain omelets clearly frozen and reheated.

Hello Bill,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We appreciate the feed back. We have recently added Raisin Bran to our breakfast and are in the process of changing to bananas from Oranges. With regards to the omelets, they are pre-cooked, however we are looking into scrambled eggs instead. Please come back and visit us and see the changes we are making.

Thank you again for your review and time.

Stayed for one night in August at this Quality Inn, and lucky it was just for one!

With a convenient location, this is the only positive point I can tell about this hotel.

It's really old fashioned, and needs a refurbishment right now. Windows, curtains, floor, ceiling... there is a lack of manteinance.

When we got to our room, I found some hair in the shower, but the most serious fact was that the bed sheets of one of the beds were dirty, as dirty that I need to go to the front desk to report it and request a change. They gave me a new one, but I did the bed because I was told that there were not staff to do it.

It's important to say that I paid 239$ for one night, so for this rate I think that bed sheets have to be clean, and if not, at least, I don't need to do the bed.

No AC, the website warns about it. I booked via telephone and I was advised as well. The same person told me that this hotel was one of the best Choice Hotels in the area. We are lucky!! Imagine if it's average!

To sum up, it's an old fashioned hotel, with an evident lack of manteinance, and expensive, really expensive for what you receive.

They need to improve it, or have a lower price.

Not to repeat it. If I stay again in the area, I'd try a condo, or another hotel.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. As the new GM, I've been working will all departments of the hotel to improve the overall "Quality" Since taking over the property, we have replaced several items in the bedrooms alone, so you can imagine my surprise to hear you were dissatisfied with your accommodations. Cleanliness is an important factor and I will speak with my housekeeping staff regarding your review. In the future, please do not hesitate to speak with me directly should you have any concerns.

Thank you again for your feed back and honesty. It is greatly appreciated.
