“Fireside 305 disgusting”

Dirty, blood stained mattresses pads and stains on everything else on the mattress include the pullout bed cover. Mattresses are ancient and one actually sinks 1/2 foot or more in the middle. Greasy food smell didn't go even after we opened windows. Windows are not safe - particularly for children. Only a flimsy screen to protect anyone from falling out 2-3 stories. Not secure - the chain on door can be unhooked from outside and the codes are given out to every renter. Dirty 70s shag rug and a toilet that had excrement caught in cracks/hinges (have photo). Owner didn't respond until days later and then after we had to move and pay extra for a place to stay with our kids. We are happy to pay for the one night WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO STAY - but she won't give us our money back for the night we didn't use. We left the place exactly as instructed in the rules and attempted to contact owners through e-mail, voicemail and the manager of the condos.

We stayed at the Fireside at the Village #306 this past March & really enjoyed our stay. This condo is quite large w 3BR & 3BA. In general, the furnishings are nice & in good condition. The wood burning fireplace/stove in the living rm was great, & there was plenty of wood provided. The kitchen is very large, too. We loved having our own bathrooms. The very narrow spiral staircase was not so great, but oh well. The pool & condo are fairly nice & indoor, which was much appreciated because it was still quite cold at night. The location is prob the best feature, as The Fireside is a very very short walk to The Village & Village Gondola, so for the most part we didn't have to bother w taxis, cars, or buses, which was sooo nice. I've stayed at The Village many times, & those condos are a bit nicer/newer, but the noise level in The Village is beyond annoying, so I think that The Fireside is a sl less expensive & much more peaceful alternative that should be considered!

We rented Fireside #302 on the advice of Liz at Mammoth Properties, sight unseen (they were still working on the photos! **WARNING!**). I am a Mammoth regular, and know that many condos are dated, but all have been fine for a quick ski weekend. Fireside #302 on the other hand is truly uninhabitable. The furniture was filthy, smelly and strewn everywhere (really junk-yard ready). The bedding was torn and moldy, there was quite literally garbage and construction supplies everywhere (mid refurbishment I suppose). The walls were VERY moldy. The carpet was filthy to the point that you didn’t dare remove your shoes. The plumbing was bad, and one toilet was inoperable – clearly by the dampness and odor on the disgusting wall-to-wall carpet in the bathroom, the toilet overflowed with every flush. The couches looked to be fraternity house circa 1977. During our stay, there was no TV. So you are stuck in this filthy dump in silence – very depressing. The Jacuzzi and pool were also closed for refurbishment. Just a very bad experience. I sent a friendly email to Mammoth Properties advising them to please look at the unit before renting it again so that they could save their reputation. No response. I am certainly not a Four Seasons snob, but I have never seen a place this bad. So trust me and avoid this unit. And I am sad to say I will not again use Mammoth Properties due to the misrepresentation and lack of customer service.

We love staying at the Fireside. Our Fireplace in the living room was so cozy. The kitchen was very well equiped to prepare any meal we chose. We were very near to the new tram making it very convient to start and finish the ski day. The new village with all its amenities is just steps away.
