“Warm and Welcoming”
Reviewed 25 October 2013

Warm and welcoming is what you will be at this bed and breakfast. We stayed 2 nights at the end of September 2013. Our host Dee, was kind and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and the conversations were great. We stayed in the Aspen room which was clean and quite roomy with a small kitchenette. The surroundings were beautiful with plenty of wild life around to enjoy.
If you are going to Devil's Tower this is the place to stay. Thanks Dee

Jane

The accommodation is fine and the owners friendly. But the breakfast experience was shocking to me. The food was excellent. But the experience of being forced to listen to a Christian blessing was a first is 25 years of travel as a adult. When I go to a B&B I do not expect to get a sermon before eating my breakfast. First we are all at one table with the owners, that is fine, but then we are told to stop eating "hold your horses" and wait for him to say grace and give a Christian blessing. If I want religion I go to a Church, my teenage son who is atheist was particularly offended. Now if this establishment was clearly advertised to explain that grace is stated before breakfast I would not have booked. The B&B accommodation is separate but the breakfast is served in the owners house so we kept quiet and were respectful, but this was not as advertised.

Great place, great location, great stay. We had a giant, super clean room (with deck) and a wonderful stay here. A beautiful part of the U.S. and they have a prime DT location. I wish we had another day here, but needed to maintain schedule. A relaxing place to stay with fine hospitality. no regrets and many good memories.

My husband and I had the Aspen Room - a clean, new, large room with a kitchenette. There are 5 rooms of which 3 are in an out-building at a short distance from the main house, including the Aspen room in which we stayed. Being on the main level and the car parked at the end of a short deck, access to the room was easy and it was convenient to bring in the luggage. We enjoyed sitting out at the little table on the deck, looking out over the valley, and listening to the birds.

Dee served us a very good dinner and hearty breakfast. She serves her meals "family style", meaning you sit at their large kitchen room table with the family. Everything is very casual - they do not put on airs. For example a large milk bottle is just put on the table for people to help themselves.

The only issue was noise that interfered with sleep. First there was a noisy air-conditioner running right above our bedside window. After we went to bed I got up, went back to the main house (in my dressing-gown), and as it was cool weather I asked her to come out and turn it off. She said the cleaning girl must have left it on. Then there was loud country music in the morning coming from the upstairs apartment starting about 6:30 a.m. Apparently it was a clock alarm and no-one had thought to turn it off. These were small irritations.

The B&B is isolated and quiet, and convenient for a visit to Devil's Tower. Dee and her husband built the entire house and out-buildings by themselves, and everything is done to a high standard. Her husband, now a Catholic deacon, is gone all week for work and only home on weekends. Dee is very good hearted, but she is an older woman managing the Inn by herself, and it is getting to be too much. She has the place up for sale in consequence.

Room Tip: The Aspen Room is excellent. Just be sure to check that the upstairs apartment air-conditioner is no...

Dee was such a nice lady, really makes you feel welcome. I think we stayed in the room called the Aspen, it had a sidekick room. Awesome location to devils tower, like 5 minutes. The rooms were exceptional from cleanliness to having everything you need. We could not get over how nice it was. Dee was an awesome host for breakfast as well as a great cook. My wife and I as well as our 26 yr. old and 16 yr. old boys had a great stay. She will fill you up with breakfast, so be prepared to eat..Don't hesitate to stay here, i guarantee you will be satisfied. It is exactly as the website states and even better!!!

Room Tip: I'm sure you will not be disappointed with any of your choices!!

Dee, you are a gracious host and we really enjoyed our recent stay at Lytle Creek. We stayed in the Aspen Suite and had a great nights sleep in the middle of nowhere. We had come from Cody and after a night at the rodeo the laid back atmosphere of Devils Tower was a way relax.

In early June 2013 my wife and I wanted to visit Devils Tower and stay nearby, so we picked Lytle Creek Inn. Although open for six years, it looked and felt new. Our room, the Aspen Suite, was spacious, king sized bed, a twin sized bed, mini-kitchen with full sized coffee pot (bulk ground coffee, filters, creamer all included, teas, hot cocoa), microwave, refrigerator, sink, cups, plates, utensils, and even dish cloths and washcloths. The bathroom was spotless, comfortable with large counter, drawers, amenities, fluffy towels, and a double vanity. The room itself had plenty of windows, and a private deck, so you could watch the deer in the morning and evening, and was nicely trimmed and decorated. The number of electric outlets for recharging electronics was wonderful. The WiFi signal was nonexistent, you have to go up to the main house for that, but both our AT&T and Verizon signals provided voice and data services in the room, Verizon a tad better. You should know the Inn is for sale, so your experience may not be ours. Your will have a wonderful breakfast and fine conversation with the current owner. The location so close to the Devils Tower is wonderful, and the land around the Inn is beautiful. On your drive back out to the highway there is a wonderful view of the Devils Tower. My wife and I would certainly return here. You do have three miles of gravel road, but it is very well maintained, hard surface, with no washboarding. The directions for finding the Inn are exact and here are the GPS coordinates for the large sign at the Inn’s entrance: 44 degrees 33’ 48”N and 104 degrees 38’ 33”W (see photo).

Room Tip: If you want in room WiFi, ask to stay in the main house.
