What a lovely lighthouse in this state park! It was cool to be able to take the step to the very top for a wonderful view overlooking the shore:-)

“Beautiful State Park”

Visited on the Fourth of July week and the park was not busy and very well kept and beautiful. Many places to stop and take pictures, hike and enjoy nature.

“Awesome view”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

Spent two wonderful days camped here with our fifth wheel. We were in site 14 which has a wonderful ocean side view. This site is not serviced, but there are sites in the campground that have power and water, however they did not have the ocean side view that we had. The site is large, but not very private, but with that view who cares. Large picnic table provide, the site is level, with a good gravel area to park the RV. Water is available at the washrooms, so you can fill your fresh water tank. There are a number of large trash containers around, so you can ensure no visits from crows or gulls. It can be a little windy, but after all, you are on the ocean, so you should expect it. Lots to see, and do, around the old military fort, with the gun mounts, installations etc. I would recommend this for anyone, that want to relax ocean side. We enjoyed the solitude, the views of all the ships traveling up the water way, Ocean cruise ships, naval vessels, commercial container ships, there was always something to get the binoculars out, and take a look. Nice site to spend a few days. (Note, no dump site for your black water, so plan accordingly)

“Beautiful and historic”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

With history and scenery all in the same place, it doesn't get much better than this. One can easily spend all day just exploring the fort never mind the beaches, trails, and lighthouse. Like some reviewers have stated: bring walking shoes, and, I would also recommend a flashlight for exploration of the spooky gun emplacements.
