“Great locally sourced fresh dining”
Reviewed 13 August 2014 via mobile

We dined here on our first night ( Sunday ) in Coupville because they're closed on Monday and Tuesday. My wife had the rabbit and I ordered the Halibut but they ran out of that so I ended up with marbled salmon prepared the same way as the halibut. Both entrees were delicious. Can't recall what we had for dessert but that was excellent as well. If you like fresh local ingredients prepared creatively and don't mind spending some dough then you should eat here.

“Simply the Best!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Booked a table as restaurant has been recommended by guests at our B&B. Ate here on our last night in Coupeville on Whidbey Islands WA. Not only the best meal we had on the Island, but one of the best meals we've ever had. Open plan kitchen gave interesting insight into kitchen. Staff friendly and accommodated slight change to one order. Food-honestly perfect. The rabbit and duck duo rilette was the best we've eaten since France. Duck entree - perfectly cooked duck breast and some duck confit too. Oyster starter coated in flaked almond crust and main course rabbit delicious too. Young chef came out when it was getting quiet and spoke to each table individually. Lovely young man. We wish him a successful future.

“Limited Menu But Nice for Seafood on Puget Sound”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

We enjoyed this place. There are 6 tables outside and probably 10 to 12 inside. It is small and intimate. The service was good if not as prompt as we would like, The select of wines limited but very nice from $9 to $15.

The lunch menu was similar to the dinner one but larger sizes.

My wife had a pretzel sandwich with mussels. She enjoyed it. I had a Ruben sandwich and the meat was more smoked than the oily meat I'm use to from back east. I really liked the taste.

My preference would be for lunch and not dinner because of dinner had a more limited selection.

“A great addition to the Coupeville area dining scene”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

The Oystercatcher is a great restaurant operated by an enthusiastic young couple. They are only open a few nights each week but are off to a great start. Food was terrific and straightforward. It was our best dining while in the Puget Sound area.

“Bravo! Bravo!”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Tonight we took a party of 7 to the Oystercatcher to celebrate a recent engagement.

What a wonderful evening, great food & wine with our favorite friends and their family.

The comfortable and causal atmosphere, with great service made for a special evening.

My wife and I look forward to returning soon to celebrate another great day on Whidbey Island.
