Philadelphia Marriott Downtown

I attended a conference at the convention center in March, 2012. What a beautiful hotel right in the heart of downtown Philly! When we arrived, we were ushered to the front desk and check in was quick and easy. The lobby is beautiful and everyone was so friendly!
The room was clean, huge, with high ceilings. Somewhat unusual in a standard, modern hotel. The bathroom was larger than normal and housekeepers were very friendly.
Loved Magionno's but DON'T go to Melting Pot across the street. Terrible, overpriced and not worth it.
Starbucks in the lobby is very popular...go early.
We enjoyed the bar area very much. Joe, the bartender was very friendly and we saw him a couple of nights. He recognized and greeted us as if he knew us. He gave us excellent recommendations on pubs to visit. The concierge also suggested the Van Gogh exhibit which we enjoyed very much.
All in all, great trip and I look forward to returning.

This hotel is beautiful and in a great location, but if you stay here be sure to confirm then reconfirm your reservations. It took 30 minutes to reserve two rooms and when I called to confirm about three days before my trip, they could not find the reservation so I had to start over. When I arrived at the hotel, they only had one room reserved. The staff member found another room but said I had to contact the Marriott reservation line to make sure they did not charge me for the room twice because just because she could not find the reservation did not mean it did not still exist...seriously?!!! The general attitude of the staff was rude and unhelpful. This hotel would be perfect if it were not for the people running it.

The location is perfect if you are staying here for a convention like I did. Other than that it is a pretty standard Marriott. The lobby is huge and the hotel can feel really busy and loud. The rooms were standard Marriott, nothing bad to say but also nothing exceptional to report on. The bed was really cozy and the room felt nice and clean. Be careful when asking for a taxi out front. I get the sense the valets and bellman want a tip just for talking to you. I had a small bag and backpack and there were 3 people trying to assist me in to the taxi.

Check in was fast, easy and with great customer service. Rooms were updated, clean and comfortable. Close to all the attractions, great restuarants and shopping. Air conditioning was very quiet. The downside is the parking cost.....extremely high, compared to other parking garages in the area. I would stay again when in Philadelphia again.

In town on business and the conference was held at this hotel. All the conference rooms were top notch. The rooms and staff were excellent. The food was very good. The security was good too. You had to use your room card to use the elevator. Lots of sites to see within walking distance.

My only complaint was the costs; it was $250/night and parking was $47/day. I found a parking deck 2 blocks down for $20/day.

Just had my daughters wedding there and it was amazing. The Liberty Ballroom is beautiful! The food was delicious and you can not beat the top-notch service you receive from the entire staff. By far the best wedding Venue in Philadelphia.

Tis is a massive hotel, but I would only stay here for a conference because if there is a conference and you are not attending, it might be uncomfortable. The hotel is excellent, great staff, nice rooms, comfortable beds, very clean. Very convinient for the city centre and the conference centre.
