I stayed at this Doubletree for three nights.. My room was on the 26th floor and had some view. The room was clean and spacious enough for one person and was well equipped for a business traveler like me. The mattress was firm, which I liked a lot, and the pillows were soft and comfortable. Internet access from the room was quite expensive ($9.99/day). The toiletries included a pack of face treatment mask (very nice!) in addition to the regular toiletry set. Though other Doubletree hotels I stayed at provided slippers, this Doubletree did not, which was a bit disappointing. Housekeeping service was slow. The housemaid did not come until 4pm, but she was very pleasant, friendly, and efficient. The hotel staff at the front desk and concierge I spoke to were very friendly, agreeable, helpful, and attentive. The hotel is centrally located. I walked back alone around 11pm and felt safe. The Rite Aid is a minute away and Starbucks is across the street.

I agree with what the previous poster mentioned about the hotel. It is a noisy place facing Broad St. I heard sirens from my room every night. If you need a super quite room to sleep, this hotel may not be your choice. The lobby was small and was poorly designed and furnished in my opinion.

Overall I was satisfied with my stay at this hotel, but I would stay somewhere else next time in Philadelphia.

This is a hotel that could be great but just isn't. Location is excellent--right in center city, close to theatres. Good restaurants within walking distance. Striking views of City Hall and the city skyline. Conveniently close to Philly's Gayborhood. Comfy bed, hot shower, and nice, big towels. And the warm cookie at check-in is deelish. But it's a noisy, busy place--horns, sirens, and street music wafting up from Broad St., multiple wedding parties congregating in the lobby and crowding the elevators, loud partyers at night. The lounge area in the lobby is like an upscale bus station--barely comfortable and without much privacy. Elevator service was irritatingly slow most of the time. At a recent conference, the meeting rooms were too small and crowded and the A/V technology seemed out of date, and there was the annoying distraction of kitchen staff rattling china and silverware on coffee service tables in the room during meetings. Staff generally seemed pleasant and helpful, but service was inconsistent. And who wants to pay for internet access at a hotel with rooms well upward of $200 a night? Parking at the adjacent garage is pricey, too. This hotel gets some things right, but they've got some work to do to make the Doubletree as good as it might be. We'll probably stay somewhere else next time.

We stayed at the Doubletree Philadelphia for one night (a Saturday in September). We arrived early in the morning and were allowed to check into our room early. We booked through Hotwire and we were given a room that was not recently renovated, but it was still nice, clean, and had a comfortable bed. Our room was also located right next to the elevators which we thought was going to be a problem, but the room layout was very smart in that the only elevator noise you could hear from inside the room was in the bathroom. The bathroom could have used some touching up -- the shower head didn't stay locked in place (a problem for my tall husband who had a hard time keeping the shower head above him) and it really had little to no counter space (but judging by the photos that is something they fixed in the renovated rooms).

The location can't be beat. We walked everywhere -- Liberty Bell, museums, Reading Terminal Market, Expo Center, City Hall, Rittenhouse Square, etc. In addition, you're practically right in the middle of the bulk of the theatre, shopping, and popular dining options.

Parking is conveniently located right next to the hotel. It's typical downtown of a major city prices (I believe $18/day), but definitely not as bad as other cities. You can do your research and find cheaper lots/garages in the area if you so choose, but to me the extra cost is worth having your car right next door.

We found the staff to be very accommodating -- not only did they let us check-in early, but they let us check out late as well for no additional charge. I would definitely stay here again -- an added bonus if I scored a renovated room, but not essential as the quality of the property is excellent and makes up for anything lacking in the actual room itself.

I've never been a big fan of Hilton hotels in general - I think they were probably excellent back in the day when they were all built but have run down over the years. So it was refreshing to check into their Doubletree brand of hotel in Philadelphia and see some quality again with the Hilton brand. Doubletree is sort of your standard three star business hotel and has everything you would want. The location is pretty decent - from here you can walk to the historic area, Penn's Landing (probably 30 mins walk), Liberty Bell (about 6-7 blocks) and a lot of other sites. I ended up staying on the club floor and thought the lounge was excellent. They had hot and cold appetizers every evening at 5:30pm. Upon check in at all Doubletrees (I have since this review stayed at a couple more) they provide you with a cookie...which is a little odd but definitely enjoyable after a morning flight with no food. Oh, by the way they also sell those cookies in case you're interested. My room was on the 23rd or 24th floor and had a great corner view of the city. There was no fridge or mini bar in the room. Bathroom toiletries were pretty decent - Nutrogena products and a bunch of them. The front desk staff were pretty dis-interested though, despite their "10" buttons they wore with pride. I would reccomend this hotel though...pretty decent spot. (Internet cost was 9.99 per day)

Excellent night for the price & location. We were able to walk to various attractions. The cookies at checkin are extra specially yummy too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to just about anyone. Tasty breakfast buffet (not typical buffet fare) on the 2nd floor. Good eggs.

This hotel is in a prime location in downtown Philadelphia. I stayed for 5 nights and couldn't have asked for a more convenient location.

The rooms are a decent size and nicely appointed. the beds are very comfortable as well.

They could do with a bit more storage - there was one armoire in our room with 4 drawers, and nothing more for storing our clothes.

Don"t expect much from the staff. They are for the most part surly and unfriendly, and not the least bit helpful. Other than that, though, it is a great location. If you do not need a lot of interaction with the front desk or the concierge, then this hotel is golden. the valet staff (for the car) was great and we never waited more than 5 minutes for our car.

Stayed here on business for 2 nights recently. A few comments.

Location - very central to downtown and historic locations
Service - fair at best. Desk help was surley.
Room - Beds were very comfortable. Room was very quiet. Appointments dated and tired. Bathroom was odd - the sink was at child height. The flooring looked new, but the shower tiles were right out of the '70s, including the mildewed grout. When I went to fill the in-room coffee machine, the coffee packet from the previous guest was still in the machine.
Restaurant - breakfast only, but the buffet was very good. Food good, service very good.

There are better hotels in this area.
