What a treat to step foot in a building where such momentous decisions were made. Tickets are free at the visitor's center. You may have to wait a while on a busy day. Come early and you can get in quickly. Tours start around 9 am. Our tour guide was enthusiastic, but we had a hard time understanding him because of his thick accent, but it added to the Philadelphia experience.

You must get a ticket at the visitor center but it is free. I highly recommend because if both the historical significance and the amazing tour. Lots of information.

Loved seeing all the history here. Note that there is a tour that gets sold out quickly - go go Early. If you don't make in time there are plenty of areas to explore that are free. There a presentation at the Continental congress every 30 minutes or so.

It's amazing to see the rooms where so much history was made. The tour was about 45 minutes and took us through the time before and after the signing of the Declaration of Independence and some details surrounding it.

Getting into the facility is more complicated than it should be. Getting into the courtyard is general admission, then there is a line for ticket holders to enter for a tour, but the tickets need to be purchased outside of the courtyard. The signage could be a little better to let you know where to go. So, get your ticket ahead of time, go over to go through security into the courtyard, then get in line for the tour. Another tip that we didn't know was that they often have extra room on the tours and don't check tickets because it's free. So, you can stand in line and probably slip into a tour after the people with tickets for that tour have entered. We were able to take an earlier tour this way.

dot miss the visit to the house and rooms where the foundational summit's that gave birth to USA had happen. The recreations of the rooms are great and you will even have the chance to sign the declaration of independence your self!
