My sister and I had been to Philadelphia numerous times, and we were looking for something different to do this time around. We signed up for City Food Tours Philadelphia, Flavors of Philly. Kelly was our tour guide-very outgoing, personable, and knowledgeable. This 3 hour tour took us from Liberty Place to Reading Terminal Market, with several stops along the way. Comfortable walking shoes are a must as well as an empty stomach. We tried tomato pie, pretzels, cheesesteak hoagie, italian hoagie, chocolate covered pretzels, and chocolate chip cookies. Kelly did a great job explaining the background behind each of these foods we tried, as well as a history of the neighborhood and its buildings we walked through. This tour is appropriate for all ages and abilities, as it is very easygoing and laidback. We took mini-breaks for pictures, and there are bathrooms all all stops except one. Bottled water was provided by the tour. Portions were reasonable as I was full by the end of the tour. I recommend this tour - perfect for anyone who would like to do something different.
