“Great location, friendly staff”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We headed to Philly for the weekend to see 2 nights of concerts at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden. On a whim, we decided to "Name our Price" and caught an excellent deal ($100/nt) for this 4-star hotel. We were quite pleasantly surprised throughout our stay. Each member of the staff was nice and helpful along the way from our arrival to departure. Willie, the Bell Captain, assisted us with our bags upon checking in and gave us the low-down on the building and area. He even made sure to find us as we left to say goodbye.

We found our room (2 double beds) to be spacious, bright, clean, odor-free and comfortable. There were no noise issues. The heating/cooling system worked without problems.

As other people mentioned, the location was great. For our purposes, we were close to the Ben Franklin Bridge to get to the concert venue and back. The hotel is a couple of blocks from the Reading Terminal Market and Convention Center. Plus, there are tons of stores, convenience stores and drugstores in the area to get little things you might need.

The concierge was super helpful as I tried to map out a run. I went for a 5 mile run in the morning and was able to get to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and back and even did a lap around the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, surrounding parks and back. The entire route was safe and populated with other runners.

Parking at the hotel is a little expensive at $45/nt ($38+tax), so after feeling the hurt night 1, we opted on night 2 to park in the garage across the street for $8 for the night.

I'm a simple traveler, and my friends and I just really needed a bed between our days of concerts. The added luxury was a nice touch for us (especially for the deal we got), but would be most welcome if we had been staying for a more touristy-type visit and needed the time and space to relax and rest up. I would consider staying at the Loews Philadelphia again.

Room Tip: We had a city-view room on the 25th floor with an amazing view both morning and night.

Green Features: The rooms did not have any information about the option to reuse towels. I like to see that in hotels because I don't need a new towel everyday. I would have preferred that option.

I stayed at this hotel a few days for work. It’s in the perfect location; Ccentrally located and within walking distance to many great eateries and attractions. Even though, it’s on a very busy street the rooms were quiet. The hotel and room were very modern and clean. The hotel staff was very accommodating. I was traveling with a friend who required medication to be refrigerated and they brought one to the room within minutes. The valet parking was a little expensive, but I would stay here again.

Stayed their with my husband for a long weekend where we met several friends from out of town. Hotel staff was quick and efficient checking us in, as well as very friendly and professional. Rooms were very clean and the bedding was luxurious! Almost felt like we were staying in a very upscale B&B with all the little touches. Location is phenomenal - most everything is within walking distance. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This hotel is in a great location - you can't ask for anything more centralized. Its not only a few blocks from city hall, a block away from Reading Terminal Market and across the street from Market East Station for easy travel to/from the airport. Its also about a 30 minute walk to Penn's Landing and a 20 minute walk to The Barnes Foundation. If walking isn't your thing, the Westbound Phlash stops across the street, and the Eastbound Phlash stops directly in front of the hotel. Have I mentioned that its a great location?

My husband and I booked a luxury king for 4 nights as I had read some reviews of loud elevator hallways and assumed the corner room would be the farthest from the elevators. This was not the case, as our corner room was right off the elevators. Our bellman who brought us to the room pointed out the soundproof door that separated our room from the elevators, in case the hallway became too noisy. We never did have cause to close the door but it was nice to know the added soundproofing was available.

The Loews Philadelphia is staffed with fantastic personnel. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful - from the restaurant staff, to the front desk, to housekeeping. We experienced great customer service throughout our stay.

If you're looking for a hotel for sightseeing in Philadelphia, this is a great place to stay.

We recently traveled to Philadelphia for a short stay to celebrate the end of the school year. Based on previous reviews, we decided to stay at the Loews. From our arrival, we were treated like royalty. Everyone was very gracious and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Our kids ( 6 & 7 year old) were greeted with special treats - hot cookies/drinks and given a free movie for the evening. Everyone from the bell attendants/captain (Willie Houser), concierge, and parking attendants (Mike Dewees) went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The staff always greeted us with a smile and asked how they could be of assistance. Wonderful stay!

I stayed here because flash-sale on a travel website. The hotel is in a great area, steps from the Old City and Rittenhouse Square. The hotel bar was quite busy and had a great selection of bourbon and unique cocktails. The room was large, but the decor was a little dated: think Patrick Bateman in "American Psycho." The staff was welcoming and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If you are flexible, definitely check the discount websites a day or two before your trip. I saved...

Our first time to the city and Loews made it just that much better. Excellent staff and outstanding accommodations. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful but we want to give a shout out to Jose, our server at the Bank and Bourbon restaurant there in the hotel. His attitude was terrific as was the food. Also, the hotel is close to the historic district which makes it very convenient. I would go there again and certainly recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: Great city views from the higher floors
