“Car Damage from Valet”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

This is a very nice property in the Historic Area. I am a very big fan of Omni hotel properties, however I am very disappointed how they are handling an insurance claim for damage done to my car sometime when I used the valet service. The valet service is pricey at $37 and even pricier after $1,000 of damage was done to my car, by scraping against a pole or wall, not sure. It has been almost a month and their insurance company has done nothing to resolve the claim. Make sure you inspect your car, when using the valet, or park it yourself.

Great location - you're in walking distance for sightseeing Historic Philly, plenty of bars and restaurants and a $5 cab ride from Jefferson Medical which is what brought us to town this time. Friendly staff - nice size room - great park view. My only complaint would be not being able to get the room colder.

Room Tip: The higher up you are - the less noise you'll hear from the street below.

NOTE: I will set aside the fact our car was vandalized while under the care of the hotel valet. We determined the valet neglected to lock the car doors. Several items were stolen and damaged requiring a trip to the dealership. The hotel as agreed to pay and if they do - that'll be that. If they fight payment - My review would go to zero stars. Recommendation: If you use valet - grind on them to lock your car!!!!

The hotel is very nice and located in a great area near the major tourist attractions in Philadelphia. It was fun to walk the streets and do some sight seeing. The room was a typical 20 year downtown type which means it was good - not great. We slept OK and the bathroom was very nice. The room itself was a nice size with a couch and desk.

One night we visited the small (really small) lobby bar and had a pleasant experience - though not a very "bar experience".

The free wifi was very slow and you could literally tell (by speed slowing even more) when a batch of guests would check-in and connect. I did not pay for the upgraded wifi as that sort of come-on turns me off.

I would recommend the hotel with the proviso above regarding car door locking...

This location could not be any better for seeing historic Philadelphia. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival, and the staff was exceptional throughout! They have fun activity backpacks for the kids, and they brought milk and cookies to our room in the evening. The doorman was so nice to our children that they wanted to buy him a souvenir!

The overall experience was great. the staff was friendly and the ambience was extremely inviting. There were so many restuarants and historical sites within walking distance. The room was big and cozy all at the same time.

We loved our total Omni experience! They have the hospitality market cornered - fun back packs for the grandchildren upon arrival, milk and cookies every evening and personal beverage delivery right to your door in the mornings. What a place!
