Omni Independence is a wonderful hotel! We had a beautiful large room with a comfortable bed within two blocks of Independence Hall for a very reasonable price. I can't say enough about the courtesy and kindness of the staff! What a great place! I highly recommend it!!

The room has upgraded furniture but the fixtures are pretty old (see photos). The service was good except when checked in. There was a wedding party and the front desk was busy. The reception hall is pretty small. Breakfast is not included. The swimming pool is very small, part of a spa operated independently in the basement. Very close to the independence hall, 3 minutes walk. It is a little disappointed for a 4 stars hotel. However, the price is reasonable.

The hotel staff couldn’t be more helpful. The location to major sites and tours is perfect. The rooms are large. They made the children feel special at check in with a backpack gifts. The pool is a lap pool. But anytime we were in it ,no one was there, we had full run of it. My children loved the whole experience. The hotel is underrated for the area. I’m used to staying at other high end hotel chains and I debated this hotel. But it was right in the middle of everything. Best choice I made. It was a Great trip.

The Omni Independence is a great place to stay in Philadelphia. It is a very comfortable hotel in the heart of the historic area; two blocks from Visitor’s Center, Independence Hall, Carpenter’s Hall, and the Liberty Bell. It is also right across the street from the Portrait Gallery housed in the pillared Second National Bank building. There are many Charles Willson Peale’s, Sully’s and other portraits of patriots here.

Our end of the hall 11th story hotel room in the Omni was very clean, spacious, and quiet. From the window, we could see Independence Hall. The hotel lobby, which has a free morning coffee center, is also spacious and inviting. The staff is friendly. The room has a large easy to use safe. Parking is valet or at a private lot one half block away. If you are using your car a lot opt for valet parking. Otherwise use the private lot. You will save money and it is secure.

Positano, a Lamberti restaurant, is an easy two block walk from the Omni. This is a great Italian restaurant! You can also walk easily to the Delaware River to the Penn’s Landing area from the hotel.

Sites outside of the Independence District that you will not want to miss include the world famous Philadelphia Museum of Art. We are fairly well traveled in the U.S. and European nations and we believe that the Philadelphia Museum of Art is second to none.( You can run up the steps leading to this museum ala the Rocky movie pump your fists in victory). We also enjoyed the Rodin Museums and walking around Rittenhouse Square and the City Hall. The Comcast Center, the tallest building in the city has 50 foot plus wide light emitting diodes television/movie screen that is fun to see.
Kids over 10 will love the interactive exhibits at the Franklin Institute.

For a nice lunch, go to 19 on Broad Street at the top of the old Bellevue hotel, now a Park Hyatt. Enjoy good food, reasonable views and a 50 foot high ceiling. Price is moderately expensive.

TIP~ Use your Medicare card to ride free on city busses. Pflash bus is also free to seniors.

Just returned from a wonderful weekend in Philadelphia due in part to the fact that we stayed at the Omni. Traveling with our children, we knew we wanted a hotel as close to the historic sights as possible. Not only is the Omni in the perfect location but it is an elegant yet not stuffy 4-star hotel. And with a AAA discount, it was quite affordable .
We arrived prior to check-in but we were able to"pre-check in". This meant they took our luggage, valet parked our car, and called us when the room was ready so we were able to walk around and begin our sightseeing without having to worry about parking and luggage.
The hotel is literally right across the street from the 2nd National Bank, diagonally across from Carpenter's Hall, and about one block to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell! It is a few blocks to the great trendy restaurants of Old City as well.
The lobby is lovely and all staff were friendly and very accomodating. Our room was quite spacious, very clean, tastefully decorated, and we liked what we found upon returning from dinner later that night -- the drapes were closed, bed turned down, and a soothing screensaver was on the flat screen tv. This certainly set the stage for a restful night's sleep after a lot of walking! But not before cookies and milk were sent up (complimentary) for my children!
We can't wait to return to Philadelphia and stay here again!!

Great hotel. Great location. Great price.

We had kind of a studio apartment room, which was fine, EXCEPT for the fact
my 15 year old son and I were forced to sleep on a tiny sofa bed together. There was not even room enough for 2 of us. I wouldn't even have a problem with sleeping on a sofa bed, but the bed was tiny---only big enough for one person. So, in sum, I highly recommend this hotel, but make sure you get a real bed to sleep in!!!!!!!!!!. Also, there wasn't much security there. It appeared that anyone could just enter the hotel and take an elevator anywhere they wanted without even being noticed. Also, parking was expensive, but that is to be expected in downtown Philly.
