Honestly, I was a little concerned at first about Penn's View. The pictures looked nice, but the website was confusing for booking reservations. I called the hotel to set that up and promptly received my confirmation via Email. The pictures didn't do it justice! This converted warehouse is far enough out of the tourist area that we felt like we were from Philly. We were right along the highway but weren't bothered by the noise at night (which is important since we are used to only hearing crickets all night). We were about a 10-minute walk from the historic square and a30-minute walk from Reading Terminal Market.
When we arrived, we were in a queen room instead of a king. However, the staff worked hard to accommodate our change. Although it didn't work out, we are most appreciative and were impressed with the hospitality.
The continental breakfast was good. The wine at the restaurant was excellent (even though we are not connoisseurs), but the food at the evening restaurant was somewhat lackluster, especially considering the many top-notch restaurants within a short walking distance.More
