“Time Traveling”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

The room was nice and cozy. The hotel by itself made it feel as if I time traveled to a different decade. My girlfriend and I choose the Alexander In because it right in the middle of the festivities for Outfest. The fact that they have snacks at all hours downstairs huge bonus and we were not expecting breakfast either. If anyone is looking for a place to stay in Philly stay here!!

I have decided to write another review because unfortunately too many places change and don't keep up their standards.Alexander inn still makes every guest feel special, the rooms are full of light and have a fantastic view, housekeeping is friendly and efficient and breakfast is good and coffee, etc are replenished immediately, unlike many fancy hotels.the location is perfect and safe.the price is right, too.john I miss you and the inn!

Room Tip: Get a corner room on a high floor.

The Alexander Inn is truly special. No hotel manager quite has the gift of hospitality and attentiveness as John Cochie, the Alexander's GM for many years now. John treats this turn-of-the-century European style hotel as if it were his own home and the guests in the same manner. All the staff is well-informed, attentive and at the ready to knock themselves out for the comfort of their guests and to insure visitors leave Philly with the desire to quickly return. It seems there is no question the staff cannot answer about the area and how to get the most out of a Philadelphia stay, and the location could not be better. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable, and the décor throughout is chic. The Alexander puts on a stepped-up continental breakfast with great selections. I had not been in the city since 2006, and coming back to the Alexander Inn and many of the same people on the team, was truly like a homecoming. Look no further when booking for Philly. This is as good as it gets!

Room Tip: There are several sizes from which to choose. Would recommend mid to higher range in their menu for...

I stayed here three nights and it was great! My biggest judge of a hotel room is the shower - and this one was GREAT. Breakfast was good - people are friendly - decorations are delightful. I had a corner room with two double beds and it was large and nicely furnished. I will stay here again when I am in Philly! I came on the train so have no comments on the parking.

Room Tip: There is a fun interactive antique on the 4th floor by the elevator!

The Alexander Inn is an absolutely ideal place to stay when in Philadelphia. You can walk to all of the historic sites. There is a large variety of restaurants that are also within an easy walk. The Inn is tastefully decorated and the double room has a nice seating area. The beds are comfortable and the closet area was a nice bonus. I would definitely stay here on a return trip to Philadelphia. The price alone for a clean and well located place makes this a must stay venue.

Small rooms but very comfortable. Great location. I enjoyed my stay a lot. The parking lot is not really close but doable. The place had a very European feel to it. Staff was nice, especially the folks working at breakfast. Not a huge breakfast selection but very good.

The Inn was very comfortable but due to a change in itinerary I had to book at the last minute for a couple nights 7-8 October before proceeding to Washington by train. Thus I had a very small room with twin bed that felt cramped. Also with the multi-national mix of guests as evidenced by the languages and accents during breakfast, I recommend that the hotel install multi-use electrical sockets as with all the electronics carried, adaptors for UK/Europe plugs can't suffice for laptop, mobile, electric razor, etc.

The staff were very helpful, and I'd like to single out Byron who was in the middle of a very long shift but remained very cheerful and willing to help with advice, etc.

Room Tip: I like a street scene so don't mind a lower floor on the street. For guests requiring a quieter...
