My girlfriend and I decided to splurge on a special occasion at the Sofitel. We were welcomed into an absolutely beautiful room, surprisingly spacious. It had the views of the city you would expect and the size and accoutrement you would want in an upscale suite. The hotel staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. We even had an unexpected gift in our room with a personalized welcome card. After some recommendations from the concierge she and I ended up having one of our most memorable nights. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there again.

The valet parking was very efficient and kind. My only critique of the room was the inability for two people to fit into the shower. Otherwise the bathroom was exquisite.

Room Tip: Ask for a good city view and a corner room

Just stayed there this past weekend; great hotel, large clean room, comfortable bed, & great customer service. I also enjoyed the robes & slippers they give you to use with your stay. They also have a restaurant should you not want to go out. There is a lot of different places to walk in that area, we did and had no problems. This hotel has highly security, so we felt very safe during our stay.

Room Tip: You can purchase the hop on and hop off tour bus, their stop is right in front of this hotel.

Dear Dng85,

Thank you for sharing your experience!

Our downtown location indeed offers a wonderful variety of historical sites and activities, restaurants, shops and bars just steps from our front door. As you mentioned for a tip, the Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour is a convenient and lovely way to tour the city.

I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

À bientôt!
Vincent

As always the sofitel room was excellent and confortable. It seems the staff at the moment need additiional training - we ended up waiting past standard check in time for a smaller room than we had booked. We were compensated in room rate, but nothing with regards to the additional wait. Service at breakfast was also slow - wrong order delivered, made total wait for an a lacarte iten almost an hour...

Stayed for 1 night at Sofitel Philadelphia. This hotel is very well located, just a few blocks from the historical sites. The room was quite big. Actually they gave me an upgrade, because the hotel was full and they were out of queen rooms. The shower, bed and pillows are the same quality the others Sofitels I stayed. The Concierge was very helpful when I asked him ˜where can I find the best cheesesteak˜ (I think he answers this question a thousand times in a single day...still, he was very nice and polite). The only problem I had was the A/C making a loud noise. I'd stay here again.

Hotel staff were great. We arrived early (0900) and room was not available. The front desk suggested we talk to conceirge to plan our morning. She was extremely helpful and sent us to Philadelphia visitor center. Hotel is convenient to all city locations. Very early on marathon run day hotel put out bananas, gatorade, water, coffee and pastries in the lobby for runners. After the race, cleaning lady offered extra bottles of water to replinish my body. The service and interactions with guests was one of the best I have seen. Oversize room was clean and comfortable. Well done to the Sofitel.

We were staying in Philly for one night and wanted a place conveniently located to the museums we intended to visit. If you are not already aware of this, hotel room charges drop dramatically the week before Thanksgiving, and we were able to get a room in this highly acclaimed hotel for only $178 including taxes,( but parking was, in our minds, outrageous at $45 per night, not including tips to valets, of course. But, don't park on the street in this town.) Still in all, we made out well seeing that the usual charge for a room is in excess of $400. What you get for your money is a nice lobby and a room that is not much different from any other hotel room, the usual toiletries, one free bottle of water, in room coffee, and that's about it. The cost of wi-fi, even in the lobby area was out of sight. We never saw our "complimentary newspaper" and stumbled around in the dark to find the very ordinary bathroom at night, only to be told in the morning that a nite light was available on request. We are not saying there is really anything wrong with the place, but, really, how much are you willing to pay to stay in the center of town? Next time we go to Philly, we will probably stay a bit out of town and drive in to the attractions.

Dear Norman D,

We do offer complimentary wifi in all of our guest rooms and lobby. In addition, we offer a high-speed option for a charge of $13.99 a night. There are also complimentary newspapers delivered daily to each floor's elevator landing, available in the lobby and Chez Colette, and we offer a complimentary newspaper to be delivered directly to your guest room upon request.

I am disappointed that you did not enjoy a unique and luxurious experience we have become customarily known for providing, and I do hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back to indulge in all that we have to offer.

Warm regards,
Vincent
