We've stayed at the Philadelphia Sofitel a number of times. As written, it is slightly dated but not falling down like many older "luxury" hotels. The staff is attentive and tries hard to accommodate the many foreign and American tastes of the guests. It is pricey to be sure. A good breakfast can be in the $50 range with tip. Drinks in the lobby bar will never be less than $50 plus tip for 2 rounds of anything alcoholic. The good news is everything is top drawer with excellent service. The valet parking is $45/night. You can self park down the street for $28/night if you don't mind a small walk. Rittenhouse Square with its many restaurants is just a block away. We recommend the Parc and Dandelion restaurants on the square.
