“Nice area for dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014 via mobile

The park itself isone of the 4 main squares around Philadelphia. There are plenty of trees and benches if you want a place to relax. In the evening, there seems to be quite a few homeless people, but they seem harmless. The best thing about this area is all the good dining options. This is a more upscale residential neighborhood, and there are some good restaurants to choose from right nearby.

“Beautiful green space!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

Rittenhouse Square is a gem in the downtown area of Philadelphia. We approached it from Walnut and 18th Streets. There are plenty of benches for sitting and resting and people watching! They appear to have concerts in the park on Wednesday evenings. We always felt safe.

“A Beautiful Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2014

One of a number of parks scattered throughout the city, Rittenhouse provides a beautiful stopping point for shoppers, tourists or residents. Set among stately buildings (Curtis School of Music, Ethical Humane Society) as well as hotels, churches and restaurants, the Square replaces cements walks with comfortable paths, green grass, flowering bushes and a fountain. It invites its visitors to stay for a while to enjoy the blue sky and light breezes as well as the people walking by. Check out the streets on the southwest and southeast corners for beautifully preserved town houses. Roam the blocks just beyond the Square to find some magnificent churches. Take your time to appreciate another side of Philadelphia.

“Continental Army Muster”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

We attended a mustering of the Continental Army put on by the National Park Service. There is also a Storytelling bench in this park. It is a nice park and the National Park Service does a great job in this whole area helping families understand the history of our country. They muster most days at 3 and 4 pm. We found out about it at the visitor's center and in the Gazette.

“Food, music and fun.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

Great little park right in the heart of Philly. Plenty of muscians playing as you stroll or sit to read a book. The entire park is surrounded by restaurants, shops and hotels. It is a wonderful location worth an afternoon visit.
