“Great museum!”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Our college-aged sons had a wonderful time, wandering the museum and enjoying the exhibits. They are running a special through the summer months, where admission is $10/adult.

“Very cool!”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

Channel your inner archeologist, and you'll enjoy this place. Relatively small museum, but there is plenty to see here. Everything is arranged by region, and well displayed throughout the museum. Some of the more interesting exhibits were the collection of Egyptian mummies, as well as a working lab where conservators were actively working. Also, there is a sphinx on display on the first floor.

At the time I went (Sunday) it was quite pleasant to walk around and check everything out. It was relatively empty and quiet. Available is an podcast tour available for download (haven't checked it out). The staff are courteous and pleasant to talk to, also some of them very knowledgeable about the exhibits.

Food is available on the 2nd floor as well.

At the time of writing this review, there is a discounted deal to get into both the UPenn Museum and the Mutter Museum. I suggest checking that out if you also want to see the Mutter.

“nice and hot!”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Very very cool stuff with mummies and ancient Roman and Near Eastern artifacts--very un air conditioned exhibits--we were able to talk to a conservator. Food selection was meh--not a lot of "kid friendly" options.

“If you love the ancients, you'll love this!”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

The grounds were lovely, and the various collections were certainly quite impressive and well-presented with context for the more casual visitor. If you've ever had an interest in archaeology, this is the place! A unique aspect, compared to other (larger) museums, is the "lab" area in which conservators/curators are in the process of examining various items (such as mummies!) realtime.
