“Watch money made”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Self guided tour is fun and interesting if you like to see things being made. Only negative is that the visitor is fairly high above the production floor.

“Very Interesting, worth checking out”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Very nice and interesting place. See how coins are made, very informative. Tours are self guided but it is still worth going to. There is also a small gift shop that sells proofs, books, posters and other goodies

“Watch Coins Being Made!”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

After many times of being in Center City Philadelphia, I finally got to see the inside of the Mint building, as I was visiting the historical sites on a weekday. Not only did we enjoy being in an air conditioned place on a very hot and humid day, but we also liked being able to see the process of how our coins are made, from observation windows up above the entire operation. The signage was informative for the self-paced tour. It was a good way to spend less than an hour and have an intermission between all the colonial-times sites. The building is across the street from Benjamin Franklin's gravesite.

“So-So”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We were somewhat disappointed that we were not able to see more of the process of making our money, but understand the need for security. I am glad I went, but it is rather dull.

“Definitely worth visiting! You will look at coins in a new light!”
Reviewed 18 June 2014 via mobile

The Mint is a short walk from the historical park and definitely worth a visit. It's a do-it-yourself walk once you enter the Mint and will take you around an hour to do. It's like walking through the time-line of minting coins and the displays and placards giving information are superb. The difference between American coins and British coins is beautifully explained. Numerous points which we overlook on a daily basis are highlighted too - you will look at the cent or the quarter in your wallet in a new light after your visit to the Mint. I visited the Mint with my 11 year old - and this was one of his top-most attractions!
