Owner description: Penn’s Landing, the waterfront site where William Penn docked, is now the great gathering place for outdoor events, especially in warmer weather. A variety of concerts, presentations and athletic events celebrate this waterfront area where history mingles with present-day pursuits.

Wonderful place. Seating has much to be desired for an event, and the lack of restrooms was a bit upsetting. But it is clean and has great views.

On a weekend trip to Philly to see the Christmas mart, visit Macy's and get into the holiday mood while relaxing, we saw the Winterfest at Penn's Landing advertised as a ice rink, beer garden, and many crafters along the waterfront. It sounded very nice so we made sure on our drive out of the city to stop there. It is along the waterfront next to the Hyatt. The concept was good but it is like they never quite pulled it off. We paid $15 to park (and should have known better when there were so few cars on a Sunday afternoon) and found a nice ice rink and very cute "village" that had about 5 craft kiosks with a big beer garden selling beer, apple cider and hot dogs for the most part. We walked through it all in 15 minutes. Unless you want to ice skate, it is not worth your time. I hope they work on it in the future because it could be an "event".

There is a nice area to walk, an okay view of the city skyline, and ship museums you can tour and run around in. Especially if you want to go inside a sub, this is a good detour.

Although it was cold and no major activity was taking place, this is a beautiful park overlooking the Delaware river. I am told that they have concerts and fireworks here and in winter, a skating rink is planned. For a lovely stroll, this is a great choice.

In the middle of September we expected Penn's landing to be open and buzzing with tourists..... In fact the whole of Philadelphia seemed to be closed!! The weather was great, but the place was empty. We went to see the Liberty Bell but that was only available through a window and so badly signposted we almost missed it. Even after dark only one short street came alive.... well it had a pulse... just! An expensive stop-over for us, especially with hotel parking at $25 a day! Wish we hadn't bothered!
