“Wanted to stay longer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2011

Only spent one night but it was wonderful. Service was excellent; enjoyed the complimentary wine hour (with truffle popcorn), and was pleasantly surprised that the room was so quiet. The hotel is in a great area, not far from the Academy of Music, Rittenhouse Square, and many restaurants.

Spent a night here for a girls birthday weekend. Champagne and cake awaited us in our room, compliments of the hotel. Does it get any better? Oh, wait...it does. Complimentary wine hour. Animal print robes! Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel itself is chic luxury. Classically styled rooms - no cookie cutter boring decor. And oh yeah...the jacuzzi hot tub - outstanding!

We stayed in a queen city view. Next time I would choose a Skyline view. The city view was good but I would have loved to have a panoramic view of the city instead. Our room was on a corner it was quiet, no noise at all. The service in every level was great (front door, front desk, bell boy, room service, turn down service, etc.) This hotel is in a very good location, close to restaurants, shops, and not too far from some attractions. On one occassion all the staff was dress with the animal print robes they provide in every room; it was fun to see them dress like that to promote a raffle for the guest to win a robe if they would dress the same for the complementary wine reception they have free every night. This is our second stay at a Kimpton hotel, they are above and well exceed your expectations.

Room Tip: choose a corner room and if you want a true city view ask for the sky view.

This was the third hotel we stayed in for our Honeymoon this August. The first two were 5* hotels in NYC so Hotel Palomar had a lot to live up to! It's been voted the second trendiest hotel in the USA and fifth in the World and it really does live up to these awards! My husband organised everything as a complete surprise for me so I was overwhelmed we arrived here.

When we checked, they gave us two complimentary cocktail vouchers for their bar and told us every night they also have a complimentary wine hour with wines from around the world! Heaven! We went to this during the last night of our stay here in Philly - it was so classy anc the wines were fab!

Anyway! We checked in and arrived at our room to find they had set out a bottle of champagne and a note congratulating us on our honeymoon!

The hot tub/bath was unbelievable! Literally, if you sat on the floor if it, water would be over your head- literally the best thing ever, I'm a shower girl and I didn't use it once!

I hope this helps you decide to choose this hotel- it was absolutely fantastic and at the best location.

Ps - my husband actually booked a cheaper room and emailed them to say it was our honeymoon - they upgraded us straight away! Literally the best hotel ever!

Caveat: I had always loved the Kimpton Hotel chain before this incident, however due to their lack of action and responsibility - they should be ashamed of themselves as a brand.

I received a serious staph infection that left me bed-ridden for 2 weeks after using one of the in-room yoga mats. It was the worse pain I have ever experienced and it was very scary dealing with it because you never know how serious and life-threatening they are until they’re gone.

Anyways, I reached out to both their Corporate and this Philly Hotel to warn them and filled an incident report in which their 3rd party insurance providers, Gallagher Bassett Services stated that my claim was denied because they reported that the yoga mats were cleaned twice a day - hotel rooms are not even cleaned twice a day! What BS!

They should at least refund my stay and pay for my OOP medical expenses - what a class-less company.

As a frequent traveler, this whole incident has been a real eye opener - do not use their yoga mats unless you want a staph infection.

Room Tip: Wipe down everything in the room yourself!

I'm a fan of Kimpton hotels and the Hotel Palomar was consistent with others I've stayed at. Very nice decor, excellent restaurant on-premises, and top notch service. The workout room was adequate, and the hotel is located close to many wonderful restaurants in the French Quarter of Philly. My one disappointment was in the size of the room. There was barely any space to walk around in the room, less than two feet from the end of the bed to the bureau and desk. We had one of the corner rooms so maybe other rooms are better. For one person it would probably be fine, but for two (my wife was with me) it was a bit cramped.

Room Tip: Little Pete's diner is a great 24 place for cheap good quality diner fare, and only two blocks a...

I spent the night at this lovely boutique hotel in Philadelphia this past weekend. We arrived by car and were immediatly greeted by the friendly valet driver. We went in to check in but our room was not ready yet so they gave us two free drink vouchers for Square 1682 where we received great service from teh bartender. We also enjoyed their veggie quasadillas. By the time we finished up there, our room was ready. We stayed in King City View and we found the room to be very comfy and clean. The bed was lovely and the amenities were fine. We did join them in the lobby for their wine reception and it was very nice although I felt alittle underdressed wearing jeans. We also found the location to be perfect to alot of restaurants, Love Park & Reading Terminal. I would recommend this to business travelors as well as leisure.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 21st floor- was a nice view especially at night.
