My husband, corgi and I stayed at the Palomar for a stop over one night. We always stay at Kimptons if we can because of how pet friendly and relaxing they are. The front desk staff and valets were super friendly and on-point despite it being Thanksgiving weekend. The room was very nice, no frills (we booked the smallest room though so I can't comment on the nicer suites). The hotel is in a great location- tons of shopping, restaurants and a nice big park nearby to bring the dog too. We'll be back!

Awesome hotel from the minute we checked in to the minute we checked out. Staff was great. They knew a lot about the local area and were very happy to help with suggestions for bars, restaurants, The hotel is dog friendly, which is great. We did not have our dogs with us, but many others did. The hotel was immaculately clean. Complimentary wine hour from 5 to 6 was a great way to start the evening. The hotel has so much to offer and is a great launching point to explorePhiladelphia.

Room Tip: We had a City View room. No street noise, but our neighbors were a little noisy when they came in at...

Stayed in numerous Kimpton Hotels before. My wife and I enjoy staying at this one when we come into the city for a night of dining and drinking for the holidays. The location is great, wine hour had hot toddies this year which were great also. The spa rooms are outstanding, roomy and comfortable. The only downside was you couldn't check out via the tv and had to wait in line at the front desk to check out. The attached bar had great service and drinks.

The Mister & I decided on a stay in Center City (although we live in a nearby Philly neighborhood) for the convenience of our Wedding.

With our travel companion (& flower-girl) being our lil girl Pitbull, finding a proper hotel was proving to be challenge.
When we came across the Hotel Palomar, all of our travel-worries were assuaged and all of our hotel/wedding planning immediately fell into place! 

The staff, who are quite possibly some of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, took care of absolutely everything!
From pet-sitting, to in-room spa services, to gourmet room service – we finally had a chance to relax and let that overwhelmed-bride-&-groom-to-be stress disappear.

We decided on the King Spa Room and enjoyed a nice view of the city from the comfort of our beautiful bathroom spa tub.
I’m extremely particular when it comes to lighting when I do my make-up and prepare for the day, and our room was practically made for this – perfect!
The fresh baked dog treats and Welcome note to our lil girl were so sweet – and she even had a plush dog bed all to herself!
The icing on the cake at the conclusion of our stay, was when our doorman managed to snag us a cab big enough to fit all of our wedding accoutrement, giant dress, luggage, dog & us – that was a real challenge & we were very appreciative of the ease with which that was handled.

We highly recommend the Hotel Palomar & are truly looking forward to a return stay – Many thanks for a lovely, memorable weekend!

This is the perfect location in Philadelphia. You can walk everywhere. We were on a short getaway, to celebrate our anniversary and to eat at a few places we've been wanting to visit in PHL. The check in was easy. Self parking was cheaper than valet and a short half block away but valet was super easy and handy on a snowy night. The room was clean, well appointed, and the anniversary gift was a pleasant surprise. I do not agree with other reviews that this is not up to Kimpton standards. It's a room in a city. Rooms are never huge. It was the perfect location and quite cozy overall. Loved every minute. Only negative was that the doormen were hit or miss and sometimes hard to find for help with luggage storage and car park. Also wish they would have had loaner umbrellas for the inclement weather.

I was pleasantly surprised by a series of very helpful emails before we even left home to make sure the type of room we needed was prepared just for us and ready upon arrival. The amazing concierge made certain our room was feather-free for my husband and very quiet for me as a very light sleeper. The hotel is small, quaint, friendly, yet upscale in the level of service provided. The small restaurant was perfect for our daily breakfasts (great omelettes)and a good choice for dinner one night. (Loved the salmon) However, our greatest pleasure was the friendly and helpful staff. From the conceriege, the front desk staff, the restaurant staff to the doorman- all were wonderful. The location was perfect for walking everywhere (in spite of the snowstorm) and we were able to safely walk back from the Kimmel Center one night and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and Paul another night. Perfect location for touring on foot!

Room Tip: The concierge is more than please to prepare a room for you. Just let Ariella know ahead of your arr...

Not sure what everyone is complaining about it not being a Kimpton standard. All Kimptons are different, sure this is not near the quality of the Monaco (near Independence hall). But the location it is the best hotel. The we had the deluxe sweet and it was great, the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint the restaurant, over priced and too stuffy. I mean late night coming back from a bar or club and you don't have club sandwiches on your 24 x 7 room service? Will stay again because this is perfect for a night in Ritten House Square!!
