“Traveling with a baby made easy!!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed 2 nights and we can't wait to go back!! Everyone was friendly and very helpful. They even emptied out the fridge and installed a microwave for our 7 month olds formula and food. We stayed in the king spa room and it was a good size and the bathroom with spa tub was well worth it. Loved wine hour at the lobby!! They had refreshing flavored water which was just what we needed after our long tourist walks. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

We just stayed one night. Hotel is in a prime location. Very clean and artsy. The room was great and the bed so comfy. Of course love the happy hour in the lobby and they had a really good guitarist. My only suggestion--ask for a room on the Locust Street side. We we next to the small side street and were up with the garbage collectors' noise very early.

Hey there,

Thanks so much for joining us at wine hour. The guitarist is actually one of our lead bartenders, Dan, man of many trades! Also, if you're a Kimpton Karma Member, we can update your preferences so you're blocked in a quiet room in hopes of avoid that city noise!

Thanks for the stellar review.

The Klimptons are my favorite hotel in Philadelphia. This one has a great location with lots of restaurants nearby and easily walking distance to Rittenhouse Square and all the good shopping, a little farther from the Barnes and Art museum but still walkable. Very friendly staff and nice amenities (like the wine reception). This time my room was a little small, but still clean and well furnished. I think I'd go with the Monaco instead although its a little more expensive. But definitely prefer this over the other hotels nearby.

Dear Imabroadwaybaby,

Always great to hear that our Philadelphia Kimptons are loved by our guests. Whether you stay with us at the Palomar or at our sister property the Monaco, we can certainly update your Kimpton Karma profile to note you prefer more spacious guestrooms. Thanks for the great review, come back and visit Philly soon.

Cheers,
James

This was our first stay at a Kimpton Hotel in Philadelphia. We stayed a Friday and saturday night in July with our two children. Our room was comfortable and clean. The beds were soft and the AC worked properly without blowing on our heads. We did get woken up by the garbage trucks emptying dumpsters all along the alley Saturday morning, but probably because of the location of our room. The staff was terrific and helpful, never tiring of our kids with many questions. They directed us as to the best places to eat within walking distance and best way to get to the other attractions we wanted to see. Other than taking a cab from the train station, we walked everywhere. Hotel is centrally located. Loved the complimentary coffee and fruit in the am and happy hour in the pm. Dog friendly hotel with several dogs staying while we were there. Kids got vouchers for cookies and milk delivered to the room at night. A nice touch for them! Would highly recommend this property. NOTE: We bid on priceline, so I cannot comment on the normal rates. We were very pleased with what we got for the rate we paid.

I have stayed at several Kimpton hotels in various cities in the US -- I have NEVER had a bad experience. My stay at the Palomar hotel in Philadelphia was no exception. Customer service is a strong point -- every single staff member I encountered was both friendly and exceedingly helpful. Pleasant lobby area (with coffee in the AM, wine reception in the PM), room was not huge, but was clean, comfortable and well laid out, WIFI (free for Kimpton loyalty members) access was quick and reliable. I pre-registered with preference for a nice view -- was assigned to a 19th floor corner room with a nice view. Very quiet. And of course, there are the bathrobes, which always tickle my fancy. Location (Rittenhouse Square area) made it easy to get to all sorts of things. Oh, and hotel is dog friendly, which I like. All in all, a two thumbs up experience.

This was our first time staying at a Kimpton property "Hotel Palomar" in Philadelphia. Our room was fantastic and the common areas were immaculate and roomy, plus we loved the complimentary beer and wine hour.

The staff at Kimpton was so polite I can only compare them to the staff at a Disney Resort. They made us feel welcome and will attend you every need.

We are sold and will go out of our way to stay at a Kimpton property whenever we travel, it is well worth the money.

Room Tip: Choose a corner room on a high floor, the view is incredible.

I had to stay here after dental surgery, not allowed to drive home. They gave me a great room, sent me upstairs with a kind and knowledgable bellman, sent up a free bowl of fruit about an hour after my check-in with a sweet personal note, and provided a very comfy bed and quiet room. Gave me a $10 credit for the restaurant next door as well. ----Upon checkout the next day, I did point out to the front desk that the closet shelf hadn't been dusted or cleaned in months because all the extra pillows and blankets were LOADED with icky dust bunnies. But if I hadn't need additional pillows post surgery I wouldn't have noticed---I love the Square 1682 restaurant next door. Had to resort to a green smoothie the next day, but OMG, killer. The location of this hotel is PERFECT
