“Best historic walking tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

The Founding Fathers walking tour booked through Viator.com was great. Owen was our guide, he is very knowledgeable, flexible to the groups interest. I learned a lot, eventhough I am fairly knowledgeable on history. Had a nice cool water break at their office and treated to a pint of great beer at the end. Owen did a good job of dispelling myths and incorrect info you get on the tour buses, that are entertaining but not the best for facts. Beaware this tour does not include the inside of historic buildings. Best value for time and money.

Thank you very much for providing feedback from your History in HD (Founding Fathers) tour experience. We're so happy you enjoyed the tour, and it's great to know that you found great value in it, and enjoyed the time with Owen.

We do want to clarify, although we don't go inside some of the larger historic buildings (i.e. Independence Hall & The Liberty Bell), we do take our groups inside as much as possible to other historic buildings. We go inside the Curtis Center on weekdays to see a mosaic masterpiece, inside a historic building in Old City to see an art exhibition (this is our bathroom / water break), and to a local coffee shop. We always go inside the historic Christ Church, and our finale of the tour takes the group inside a historic pub for a beer or beverage included at the end.

The in-depth experience, the social nature of the tour, and the travelers' access to the city and the locals are what makes Urban Adventures unique.

Thanks again for the review and we hope to see you again!

“Fun way to see Philly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

Segway is always a fun way to see a city, get historical info about it, and cover a lot of territory. Urban Adventures lived up to all my expectations. The group was small, just 7 people so it was manageable. The wireless communication was great so out guide could talk as we rode. Mike our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Great tour, a must do.

“Philly on Tap tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

I booked the Philly on Tap tour for my boyfriend's birthday, and it not only included great beers (loved the 1860 IPA that you can only get at McGillin's) but also interesting Philadelphia history. It ended up just being the two of us on the tour with our guide Chuck, and he went above and beyond by going over the 2 hour time limit and leaving us with great recommendations for other places to check out on our own. Chuck was friendly, easygoing, and clearly loves the city--it was great to get the inside scoop from a Philly native. Would definitely recommend Philly on Tap to anyone interested in beer/history!

“Great Tour of the Italian Market in Philadelphia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

Yesterday I took a tour of the Italian Market area of Philadelphia, guided by Urban Adventures. Our Guide, Chuck, was very knowledgeable about the city and the area (having lived there his whole life, and also being a professor at nearby University of Pennsylvania) and made the walking tour a very enjoyable event. He had lots of interesting facts and stories about the places we visited, and he introduced us to many of the proprietors of the shops we visited, which added a lot of color and personality to the experience. we tasted many of the delectable treats that the market is known for, and I feel we learned a great deal about what makes the Italian Market special. It was well worth the time and money to takes this tour, and Chuck made is a very memorable experience.

“Italian Market Tour-Philadelphia, PA”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

This tour is a great introduction to the Italian market for those who have never experienced it before but is also a fun way for those who live in the surrounding areas to get more out of their next shopping visit. Chuck did an excellent job guiding about 10 of us through the area. He was informative, engaging, and friendly. The tour felt like a relaxed stroll through the streets. Not only did we learn some history about the city and this particular area, we also had an opportunity to get a taste, literally and figuratively, of the food, culture, and philosophy of the business owners. It was a very pleasant way to spend a morning in Philadelphia.
