For starters, any reviews above 2 stars is probably fake. I flew to Philly for a school admission interview and stayed at this hotel for one night and OMG, what a filth! I should have known that it was going to be an experience of its own when a "lady of the night" and her client offered me the keys to their room, for half the price, right in front of the desk clerk, because they were "done with their business" for the night. When I got to my room, it was so putrid. The sheets were nasty and I counted at least 5 holes in just one of them. It was a cold December day and the so-called heater was running on empty, so no heat was coming out. There was no way to control it because it had no panel, the wiring/metal components were exposed. The coils were surrounded by a 3-piece wood slab nailed together.
That night, I went to bed fully clothed with my jacket on because I did not want to catch any skin disease from the sheets. By the way, if you want to use the phone or tv or iron, you have to ask the front desk and pay extra so you can have them in your room. Seriously??? Don't let me started on the bathroom either. I can see disease written all over the place. The shower head and the piece of rag of a towel were the worst I have ever seen. Even worse, I did not even put my feet on that carpet, just disgusting. The chair, I was suppose to sit on, was worst: all kinds of 'ungodly stains'.
As soon as I felt safe to walk down to campus for my interview, I checked out of this "pit" and left without even looking back. If you care about your life and don't want to leave your skin behind, I suggest you don't even consider staying at this "hotel".
By the way, I noticed that they removed my previous "negative" portrayal of this hotel. Such a shame!! I am shoked that Trip Advisor would try to "silence" the "real" customers and prevent them from sharing their experience.
