“Much to See and Learn at The Franklin Institute”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

The Franklin Institute is an excellent place to visit, especially when travelling with children. There is much to learn and see at the Franklin Institute. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the museum. Inside the Franklin Institute are the following exhibits: The Science Center, The Train Factory, Sir Isaac's Loft, Changing Earth, Electricity as well as the infamous Giant Heart (where kids can crawl and see how a human heart works). There is much more to see and experience. Highly-recommended, especially if you are looking for something to do on a rainy day.

“Fun and learning for all”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

The Franklin has put together a collect and series of exhibits that are amazing. There is a full sized locomotive engine that goes back and forth on track, I loved standing next to it and looking at the details. That is just one of many... They recently opened an exhibit about the brain that is brilliant. There is a "neural" trail kids can take that let's them climb "through" the brain (it was designed and built by Luckey Climbers out of Connecticut). It is amazing and informative.

This is a great place to visit for families and people that like the way things work.

“Fun & educational ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

This place was pricey- and great for our older boys- age 7 & 10, but my 3 year old was a little overwhelmed. We spent 3 hours there and barely made a dent- so budget more time there if you want to get your money's worth.

Food was horrific. Overpriced and junky as expected - but served cold and tasteless made it worse. The cheesesteak was decent- the rest- blah!!! Save your money.

“Normal science museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

If you're expecting something more than your usual science museum you won't find it. It's a good museum, but other than the massive statue of Ben Franklin in the foyer it's not any different than most science and industry museums.

“Cool museum, but staff were terrible!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

The Franklin Institute was a fun, hands on museum (the brain exhibit was especially interesting), however I have never encountered such unfriendly and rude staff at a tourist attraction. I approached an employee at the information desk about where to redeem my City Pass and he grunted and pointed. I later asked an employee at a different information desk where the restroom was, and she never even looked up from drinking her soda. Finally, I asked an employee working at the Blue Angels simulator if we could ride in flip flops (note that closed toed shoes were required for the other flight simulator) and he just looked at me, not saying a word. I responded "yes?" and still just got a blank stare. Staff were acting like working there was some sort of punishment. Not exactly the experience I was looking for!
