This was our first time doing a vacation rental instead of a hotel, and we would DEFINITELY do it again. On the plus side - excellent location for sightseeing in Philadelphia, close to the waterfront as well, very roomy & clean, close parking ($14/night), nice ammenities (kitchen, washer/dryer, wifi, etc).
On the negative side - NO PRIVACY in the one bedroom (just has a half-wall), only provided with one washcloth per person for a 5 night stay (fortunately I brought some of our own), broiler did not work, lots of street noise on Saturday night. But these seemed minor inconveniences. More of an FYI if you're thinking of renting.
My wife and I enjoyed the condo...very comfortable, super great location, but...we knew going in, but...no coffee pot (only a coffee press?) and no microwave. I know, I know...you don't go to Philly and need a microwave or a "full blown" coffee pot. But, we're from New Orleans, we NEED a coffee pot, not a coffee press. As for the microwave, it's just the American Way when you travel, you know, leftovers from the great restaurants in Philly and all dat. With that said, it was a great place to stay, I would highly recommend it. Go Saints...we may meet those Dirty Birds (Philadelphia, Atlanta is the original Dirty Birds) in the NFC Championship. Seems like we always have trouble with the Birds (Seahawks?). Who Dat!!! Oh yea, if you get a chance to go to Bushkill Falls, by all means, go.
Thanks for the great feedback all good points. Im going to go out and pick up a coffee maker and microwave today.
