Spent a weekend in Phila with 2 kids and stayed at this hotel. Be sure to investigate the packages that include parking (if you have a car) as it's expensive without. Rooms were nice, great location to walk or take public transportion/tour buses. Staff was very helpful and recommended a great mexican resturant nearby (was one of the best we've ever had - still talking about it!). Recommended for family.

Room Tip: Higher elevations give better views of the city

Dear barryb_10

Just wanted to thank you for the kudo's on the mexican restaurant recommendation from our front desk team. They all take the time in learning and visiting the restaurants so they can give accurate details on their food, beverage and service experience. Glad that you had a wonderful dinner!

Located in Center City across from City Hall, this Residence Inn provides instance access to the heart of Philadelphia. It's just a short walk from Reading Terminal for those with an appetite for Philadelphia's culinary offerings. Be forewarned, the valet parking will cost you $40 per day! The lobby is small, but the second floor sitting area and breakfast room is expansive and a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing.

This hotel is located right across from City Hall and is within comfortable walking distance of all major attractions, 'must sees.' Check-in was quick and the hotel is modern, clean and fresh inside. The 2nd floor lounge where breakfast is served is open and spacious. Breakfast variety is very good and the food was fresh. Our orignal room was on the 4th floor which I find very noisy in the center of a city. (I'm a very light sleeper) Mark at the front desk was happy to move us the next day to a much higher floor, provided an upgraded room and the view was beautiful. If you're catching a ball game Citizens' bank park is a short subway ride away. Buy your tokens from the machine and you save a few dollars but take $1 bills because the machines calculate the # based on how much you put in the machine. If you put in a $10 it will give you 5 tokens and change; you can't ask for 3 tokens and change. Book for the free walking tours.

Room Tip: High floor (traffic noise) West side facing city hall

I travel for business fairly often, but got away with the family for a few days vacation. We selected the Residence Inn, Downtown Philly for the location, but we were completely overwhelmed by the outstanding service that we encountered. From great activities, and restaurant suggestions, to the general freindliness of the entire staff. Rooms were great, we would recommend this hotel to anyone. Tom

Stayed six nights mid July for a Disaster Recovery exercise about 6 blocks away. Hotel is located centrally to shops, restaurants, a farmers like market(huge) and other interesting sites to see.

Stayed in a corner room upper floor to avoid the noise from cars, alarms and sirens late at night.

Walked mostly everywhere, used Cabs that are reasonablly priced from time to time late at night and early morning. Be sure their Credit Card machines are working before you get in, some will take you a block or two and tell you that they cannot take credit cards and then demand that you stop at a CStore and use an ATM to withdraw money.

The hotel is in historic building and the setup fits the surrounding area and is well decorated. Rooms were comfortable and the nightly snack/managers reception and the area they hold it in is really nice.

Would definitely stay here again on a siteseeing trip though the hotel is just as great for business as well.

So many restaurants within walking distance including mom/pop, local and chain restaurants.

Room Tip: High floor here all the way, lower floors will get noise from the traffic, alarms, etc.. 24x7.

Very disappointing room size and quality for the price. Bathrooms are tiny! Don't even consider the breakfast option. Styrofoam plates and plastic silverware; cold food and pushing customers. For this price you can have a room in many other center city hotels.

Thanks for taking the time in giving us a review from your stay. One of the many highlights of our property is actually the size of the suites and the location in Downtown Philadelphia directly across from City Hall, only two blocks from Reading Terminal Market. I'm sorry you felt that your room was not as big as you wanted. Also, very shocked by the comments regarding breakfast. The hotel offers this complimentary breakfast daily and is ranked extremely high in the brand for quality and service. Very sorry that your breakfast was not at the standards that it should have been at.

If at anytime you would like to talk further regarding your stay please don't hesitate in contacting me at the hotel directly 1-215-557-0005 or edward.farrington@marriott.com

The hotel is great. Great staff, clean rooms, good breakfast. I had experienced lost luggage on Alaska airlines and the staff was very helpful. Everything you expect from a Residence Inn. If I have business in the center of Philly, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The only negative is the location. It's downtown Philly. Panhandlers and dirty streets.

Thanks for sending in a review from your stay with us.

I'm so happy that my team was able to get your luggage back to you. We're very lucky to have such a hard working team here. We've also gotten with the city on patrolling the front block on Broad Street in front of the hotel making sure the panhandlers go away.
Thanks again for the nice comments regarding the hotel overall!
