We took our 9 and 11 y.o. to Philly for the history. If you are looking to go to the historic part of Philly, this hotel is ground zero. Across the street from the Liberty Bell and catty-corner to Independence Hall where they signed the Declaration of Independence. One block from the Constitution Center and also buggy rides, maybe two to Ben Franklin's grave; about four blocks to Betsy Ross's house and Elberth St. We only had one full day in Philly so this location gave us access to everything we wanted to see except Eastern State Penitentiary, but it was just a short hop in the car so we got there as well.
The hotel is whimsically decorated; really fun, and the food at their restaurant, The Red Owl Tavern, is great! The burger is fantastic, the chicken was super-juicy, the steaks were perfect. And it's so easy to pop back in there for lunch if you are puttering around. Well worth the money!More
