I've been to this restaurant twice and both times I've been pleasantly surprised! This restaurant is located on a small side street off of South Street. There is a sign that you really can't see but you know to look for a colorful door. There is no parking on the street so that is a premium in this Philadelphia neighborhood. You ring the doorbell and wait for someone to open the door to greet you. If you have to wait for seating, you wait outside on the street. One member of our party was using a cane. During our wait, the host, who answered the door, left the restaurant only to appear with a chair for my party member! It is a small restaurant with many floors, so reservations are a must! The decor is pleasing and comfortable, with banquette seating and numerous pillows, no chairs. Each area has round coffee tables where the food is served. If you want to try Moroccan food this is the place to get a great delicious sampling of vegetables, couscous, beef, lamb chicken, etc. We were served 6 courses for a flat fee of $25 per person, plus tax and gratuity. You can bring your own wine or beer with no corkage fee! The server brings large bath towels for you to place on your lap and use as napkins. Then rosewater is brought over for you to wash your hands. The courses begin with unlimited pita bread to use in place of utensils. And if that's not enough, a belly dancer comes out to show you how to belly dance! It is a fun evening for a group of friends or family.
