While the ambience is noisy & far from elegant & the service somewhat rough around the edges, the heaping plates of delicious hot food are worth poorly trained disruptive servers who reached in front of us mid-conversation once too often & neglected to bring bread to the table until asked (twice). Portions are generous & specials that included a whole expertly grilled Bronzino, served w/ colorful veggies & chicken stuffed w/ feta & spinach were excellent & along w/ a jam-packed Greek salad, smothered w/ remarkably tender lamb shavings, provided plenty of leftovers to take-home. Two (only) dessert selections were standard Greek fare & like many popular restaurants in Philadelphia, Effie's is BYOB, which helps cut costs.
