Varalli Restaurant is located on the northeast corner of Broad and Locust Streets just across the street from the Doubletree Hilton (which I also review) Established in 1989 their cuisine is Italian and Seafood with a Mediterranean twist. We have eaten here two or three time over the years we have come to visit this city it’s been a favorite of ours and I understand for decades with the locals and theatergoers of Philadelphia because of its wide and varied menu. It features floor to ceiling windows for people watching on the Avenue. High-backed booths make for intimate dining for groups up to six. The restaurant is decorated with fine pieces of original art; mostly from local artists. My wife and I have tried their Pan Seared Filet Mignon, Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast and the Lobster Ravioliand all were very good and the service has always been excellent. The prices for entrees range from $18 to $30 and it’s worth it. They offer a four-course dinner special called “Beat the Crowds” it’s a price fixed menu for $35 available 4:30 to 5:45PM. They also have another restaurant upstairs which is just as good and a little less expensive. Make a reservation or you may have trouble getting in for a great meal.
