Went in for a quiet drink and a bite on 3/5/13 at 645pm. Female, dark-haired bartender near front door abusive, arrogant. Much more interested in side work and yukking it up for the presumed regulars than pouring a drink for someone new. Disappointing.

My fiancé and I stopped into O'Neals for a beer on our tour of south street on the night before labor day. We went up to the second floor where we were immediately greeted by both bartenders. We left after our beers but after walking up and down south street (a lot of places were closed) we returned. We frequent a lot of pubs and for us service is everything! The bartenders were extremely friendly and offered great service. It was karaoke night so we enjoyed listening and singing along. The food was very yummy and even though it was a pub, after we told the bartender we had been searching for a good cocktail, he made us each quality cocktails not normally found in a pub. If we ever go back to Philly, this will be the first place we go!!!

O'Neals was very inviting with it's front all opened up and an nice Irish Pub feel as you walked in with a nice atmosphere on both floors. The food was very good, they had over 100 different beers including a hand pump tap, a great section of Irish Whiskey's and plenty of TV's for watching sports. O'Neals also had a nice Beer Garden patio out in the back.
The staff was very friendly with good service and the people sitting at the bar were very down to earth and social.

If you are on the eastern end of South St and want a few beers and some good food, don't miss this place. I haven't seen beer prices like this since like 1995.
The food is pretty typical pub-style but also pretty well done. Their fish and chips are particularly and consistently good.
