Historic Boutique Hotel one block from Washington Square. Walk to everything. Family of three was very comfortable in one of the large rooms. Stayed for July Fourth holiday. Staff was very accommodating.

I've stayed at Morris House several times now within a year and each time it's been a great experience. The staff is very accommodating and the rooms always spotless. This BnB is more of a home than a hotel which is more pleasant than big obnoxious corporate hotels.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms.

This is a wonderful historic property with pleasant, attentive staff; the experience is rather compromised by incredibly ugly paintings - almost caricatures - that appear on the walls throughout the public areas. These images are so jarring in the otherwise serene 18th-century rooms that they actually cause you to wince and look away. Also, make sure there is not an event scheduled at the inn on your preferred night(s) - you will not be able to us the bar or garden at all. Our guest room (301) was lovely - with the exception of a very tired carpet - I would definitely stay again, particularly if they remove or replace the "art" in the downstairs rooms and stairwells - and I would never book the property for an event unless this was done.

Morris House is a historic building that is within walking distance of the Liberty Bell, etc. It is a fabulous find. The breakfasts are very good. Eating in the lovely garden is special. The staff bends over backwards to make the stay pleasant. I cannot think of a better location in Philadelphia. On top of that the building is the former home of the Morris family, one that was very involved in the founding of the country. I recommend this location.

Room Tip: All are good, but remember it may involve stairs.

Stayed 2 nights in Room 502. Very nice accommodations, nice sized bathroom, living room and bedroom. Location perfect for touring all of Old City and main attractions on foot. A very nice continental breakfast was included.

Overall, a very pleasant and welcoming stay, would highly recommend.

You take a very comfortable walk back in time to the eighteen hundreds to the brick house of Samuel Morris. You walk in at 3pm to warm cookies and tea. You sounder over to their restaurant next to the courtyard for a complimentary glass of wine between 4-5pm. You have 3 small plates for dinner in the covered courtyard. It is as good as it sounds. This was our first visit but it is now our favorite boutique hotel in Philly.

Morris House is a gorgeous historic house filled with antiques and charm. The accomodations were exactly as described on their website and the warm welcome and hospitality I received when I arrived could not have been better. Simply charming, peaceful and quiet. I will surely stay again on my next trip.
